THEY'RE ALL IN COURT, CATTY AGENTS, PARENTS GET TICKING-OFF

Film
Superstar Rattapoom ''Film'' Tokongsub will try to force a DNA test out of the actress who claims she gave birth to his child, now their paternity dispute has gone to court.

The RS Promotion star gave his first interview last week since he took an overdose of anti-stress pills at the height of the drama.

Actress Rungnapa ''Annie'' Brooks claims she gave birth to Film's son, now aged three months, but has refused repeated requests by Film's family to allow her son to take a DNA test.

Director Poj Anon, who is acting as Film's guardian, has threatened to sue Annie for defamation after she claimed Film is the father. Acting for Annie, however, the Lawyers Council's Thon Buri section and the Friends of Women Foundation on Thursday filed defamation charges of their own with the Civil Court in Thon Buri.

They are suing Film's boss RS Promotion head Surachai ''Hia Hor'' Chetchotisak after he suggested Annie is a loose woman. Legal action against Poj is likely to follow next week.

Director Poj and Hia Hor have suggested the Thai-Swedish actress was seeing other men at the time she supposedly fell pregnant with Film's child.

During their television interview last week, Film and his mother Kormmon Thongmung said they would rather not take legal action, but if it came to that, they would ask the court's permission to order a DNA test.

''We want openness and transparency,'' said Mrs Thongmung. ''If this matter is shrouded in obscurity as it is now, no one is any better off, as cause for suspicion remains.

''I want clarity, and for this saga to end as soon as possible. People should stop evading the truth.''

Annie said she is worried that Film's family will try to take the child away from her if a DNA test proves he is indeed the father. She also fears influential figures will try to tamper with the DNA test results.

Mrs Thongmung said Film will embrace the child as his own if the DNA test shows the child is his. She dismissed talk that his entertainment label, RS Promotion, will try to meddle with the test result. Film added: ''That's unlikely to happen. This is real life, not a soap opera,'' he said.

Justice Ministry spokesman Tharit Pengdit said last month that Film can seek a court order to obtain a DNA test if the mother refuses.

However, the actor must show in his formal request that he wants to accept the child as his legitimate son.

Poj said he is putting off suing Annie for the time being, as publicity surrounding the dispute has turned Annie into a minor star.

A court drama would only bring in more work for the actress. -

'A', his book, Coco
Celebrity talent manager Supachai ''A'' Sriwichit really does poach other managers' stars, says an industry rival.

Nirun ''Coco'' Limsomwong is preparing to take legal action against A _ manager to celebrities Patcharapa ''Aum'' Chaichuea and Mario Maurer, among other leading names _ for misrepresenting the outcome of a court dispute between himself and Mario.

Last year, Coco was involved in a contract battle with A and Mario (Love of Siam, 4 Romances, Rahtree Reborn). He claimed A lured Mario away to join his own talent stable. The court agreed, and awarded Coco damages.

A has now published a book in which he seeks to counter claims that he likes to steal talent. The self-deprecating title is A Supachai: Talent poacher with No Shame.

Mario claims in the book's foreword that he left Coco to join A after his contract with Coco expired. In that case, he was not lured away in breach of contract as A claims.

Coco said he was annoyed to read the remarks:

''If that's the case, why would I take legal action?''

Talent scout Wiriya ''Oub'' Pongahjhan is also unhappy about the book. ''It claims I turned up at the court during Coco's dispute with Mario to abuse Coco.

''It's not true. We turned up with flowers to support Coco,'' he said.

Oub has asked celebrity lawyer Leena Jangjanja (Leena Jung) to look at the book with a view to taking possible legal action, though he will settle for a simple apology. -

Art, Aom
An actress is smarting after security footage of her and her husband arguing with the mother of an unruly child found its way on to the internet.

Actress Piyada ''Aom'' Akarasene appears with her husband Sara ''Art'' Jutharatnakul in the footage, taken at the Major Cineplex in Ekamai on Sept 18.

The pair are shown arguing with the mother of a child, aged about five, who kicked Art while he was waiting with Aom to buy sweets at the cinema kiosk.

The boy, who also kicked the shop counter for fun, lifts his hands in a wai immediately after his foot makes contact with Art, who appears to have been an unintended victim of the boy's lively nature.

Art, however, is taken by surprise. He and his wife start to remonstrate with the child's mother, who recognises Aom as an actress.

The argument carries on for five minutes and finally attracts the attention of cinema workers and customers. Aom and Art pay for their purchases, and leave the counter.

The videoclip was posted on a popular Thai webboard, where it has attracted thousands of responses.

Many Thais criticise Aom and Art for arguing with the mother, though the clip has no soundtrack. An account supplied by the anonymous poster claims Aom called the mother ''low class'', and railed at her for failing to raise her son properly.

''What more do you want? My child has apologised already!'' the mother is said to have exclaimed angrily.

In a response to reporters since the clip was posted, Aom said she was stressed by the negative reception to the saga

''We have nothing against the child, and I love my nephews and nieces dearly,'' she said. ''We did not use bad language with the mother, though she made remarks to us which do not bear repeating. When she recognised me as an actress, she stepped up her attacks, as if she wanted to make some point,'' Aom said.

The mother has written to media outlets, claiming the boy was merely trying to step on a cockroach. She has also laid a complaint with police about the saga, though Aom says she has yet to hear anything from them.
