A'S ALLURE, FAMILY TIES, JUST A SLIP, PLAYING SAFE, THREE TIMES WED

Coco
A talent manager is mulling legal action against two people who have upset him, even as he weighs the damage to his own reputation which would result.

Talent manager Nirun ''Coco'' Limsomwong says he would rather not have to follow through on his threat to sue an industry rival who has fallen into his bad books.

However, he is almost certain to sue a young woman who walked out of his stable, even if legal action will only underline his reputation as an awkward character.

Coco, who has a history of trouble with the young stars he represents, said he is likely to sue teen actress Apinya ''Saipan'' Sakuljaroensuk over a contract dispute, as she left him out of pocket.

Saipan declared last year she was no longer willing to work with Coco, as he took on too much work on her behalf. He also swore at her mother, she said.

Coco declined to release her from the contract, which recently came to an end. He will seek payment of unpaid expenses worth 100,000 baht.

Coco is wary of his reputation as a difficult sort. However, he said most of his clients understand that he is really not that bad: ''Just because I have a problem with Saipan doesn't mean I can't get along with others, and thankfully most people understand that,'' he said.

In August, Coco ran into trouble with another young star on his books. An aspiring actor threatened to hit him with a shower hose after he was rejected for a TV movie role.

Acting newcomer George brandished a hose, held Coco in a head lock, and swore at him.

Last year, Coco was involved in a contract dispute with actor and model Mario Maurer, who left him to join the stable of celebrity talent manager Supachai ''A'' Sriwichit.

Coco, who took the pair to court, claimed A lured Mario (Love of Siam, 4 Romances, Rahtree Reborn) away to join his own herd. The court agreed, and awarded Coco damages.

In a new twist to their battle late last month, Coco said he was preparing to take legal action against A for misrepresenting the outcome of his court dispute with Mario.

He was upset about a new book in which A counters claims that he likes to steal talent. Mario claims in the book's foreword that he left Coco to join A only after his contract with Coco expired.

A has since apologised to Coco for making the unflattering reference. ''A ghost writer wrote it. I didn't see the final draft,'' he said.

Coco doesn't believe him, but said he will settle for a simple apology - preferably, one with more substance - if A wants to end their row. -

Koti
When it comes to his finances, funny man Koti Aramboi fails to see the joke. Thais assume the baby-faced, roly-poly Koti - a viewer favourite who pops up regularly as presenter and actor - must be wealthy, because he's so busy.

''I'm asked whether it's true that I have 100 million baht stashed away. It's not true. In fact, I can't save at all,'' he said.

Koti, 29, said he supports 26 members of his extended family, living in two homes. Some are not slow to ask for his financial help, even though they are adults, with children of their own.

''Some do nothing but sit at home all day,'' Koti said last week, lamenting the fact that he may not have enough money to give his girlfriend, Oiy, a decent wedding. The two announced recently that they wanted to marry.

''The problem lies with my mother. Members of my family pester her for money. She comes to me. I have to find 300,000 baht a month just to keep everybody happy,'' he said.

''Many people reckon I must have 100 million baht. Actually, if I had even half of that, it would be enough: I'd run away!'' he joked. -

Woonsen
Whoops! Did anyone catch that? A VJ said to have suffered a nipple slip accident on the runway says she is too well padded with silicone for her breast to show.

Wirithipa ''Woonsen'' Pakdeeprasong denies her breast was exposed during a nip slip accident when she hit the catwalk for Elle Fashion Week last month.

''I was absolutely stuffed with silicone, so there's no chance my breast fell out,'' she said.

''I saw the pictures in the media, but I suspect the colour just ran from the photograph.

''I always take precautions ... top and bottom.''

The same cannot be said for Woonsen's friend, actress and model Janie Tienphosuwan, who trod on her dress as she made her way down the runway of a fashion event last month, exposing her right breast.

The pictures did a racy trade on the internet, prompting Janie's mother to appeal to the media to stop publishing the images. ''My daughter has cried for two days straight,'' she said.

Woonsen said she felt for Janie, who has since returned to the runway, after initially suffering an attack of the jitters about whether her breast might fall out again.

''I feel sorry for Janie. I took one look at her face and knew she was missing sleep, she was so upset.

''But her spirits are starting to recover now,'' she said about her friend's ordeal.

A Channel 7 actress wants to appease the gods and stop her bad luck after she was involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Anyarin ''Thapthim'' Thirathananpat and her mother Thanyathorn were admitted to a Bangkok hospital with minor injuries early on Nov 1 after their car overturned on Chaeng Watthana Road.

Mrs Thanyathorn was taking her daughter to the set of a soap opera, Khunchai Tam Rabert, in Bangbuathong, when their vehicle was hit by a truck.

Their Toyota Vios overturned on the driver's side, and slid across the road. A good Samaritan helped get the pair to hospital.

The mother has bruising around the collarbone, and a shattered elbow. Woonsen suffered bruising around the hips, waist and chest.

The actress said she failed to attend a religious ceremony heralding the start of work on the soap opera late last month, which might have led to the accident.

The buang suang ceremony is supposed to ward off bad luck during production.

''I couldn't attend that day, as I was busy working on another soap. I am not normally a superstitious person,'' she said.

''I don't consult fortune-tellers, and had no warning this might happen.

''However, just to make sure, I plan to take my family to make merit, to ensure we stay safe,'' she said. -

Paula, Edward

Actress Paula Taylor, is getting married in three countries, but is unlikely to enter a church in even one of them.

The actress announced recently that she intends to wed her Thai/Chinese boyfriend, Edward Buttery.

They will tie the knot in three countries - Thailand, England, and Hong Kong, with Paula wearing a different wedding dress in each - but the couple is unlikely to haunt the entrance of any church.

''We have yet to decide, but I do not hold to any religion, so we are unlikely to arrange a church ceremony,'' she said.

''I'm not a Christian, but to be one, when I was a kid, you would have to turn up at this, perform that ... and I never did.''

Paula said she will have to talk to Edward about whether he wants to take part in any religious ceremony when they are wed.

''If you are not a practising Christian, you can't just call the church and make a time for a wedding. You have to get permission.

''I would have to ask whether they are willing to perform the service,'' she said.

The pair plan the Bangkok part of their wedding for Dec 22.
