Sek faces charges, back backs down, Aum's denial

Beating a 'serious criminal matter'

Sek, Bee

Kae, Kan
Rocker Sek Loso is facing serious charges after assaulting a friend of his ex-wife in the Ram Intra area earlier this month.

Sek admits he beat his ex-wife's personal assistant Chanokporn "Bee" Boonpeng on April 13 after coming across her, his young daughter, and sister of his estranged ex-wife as they were heading out for a bite to eat.

As Sek's ex-wife Wiphakorn "Kan" Sukpimai last week took her sister Kae before reporters to recount the attack, Lat Phrao police, who received their complaint, say they are considering pressing charges of assault causing serious injury.

Pol Col Saksit Meesawad, superintendent of Lat Phrao police, said he was waiting for a report from Bee's doctors on the extent of her injuries before calling in the rocker for questioning.

At this stage, they had been told Bee would have to spend 20 days in hospital to be treated for her injuries, with a total recovery time of at least two months. The attack could fall under the category of attempting to kill, and was a serious criminal matter, he said.

Earlier, Kan said she was horrified Sek assaulted Bee while in the company of the couple's daughter, Kwang, and her younger sister, Wirangrong "Kae" Saengsaithim.

She also posted an image of him kicking Bee, who reports say was admitted to hospital with a broken jaw. Kan said their daughter tried to stop Sek, to no avail.

Speaking to reporters days after the attack, Sek admitted he hit Bee, and he's happy to pay the fine or go to court if the other side takes action.

"She is known for defaming people and set up a hate site against me," he said.

The case took a step forward last week when Kan took her sister Kae before reporters to describe the attack, which she insisted was unprovoked.

Kae said the three had just been to see a movie and were heading out for an  ice-cream when they ran into Sek.

"He gave Kwang a hug, before punching, hitting and striking Bee. He didn't say a word," Kae said.

"Bee fell into a heap on the ground. His followers grabbed her and held her up so Sek could hit her again. I managed to take a picture on my phone before Sek's followers saw me and yanked it away. I headed to the car to store the bag with the phone in it, but Sek strode over and slammed car door on my arm.

"The whole thing took three or four minutes. Kwang was imploring her father in tears to stop. Bee tried to get in the front seat opposite the driver, but Sek strode over and kicked her," she said. He hollered several threats before they left the scene.

Kae said she took Bee to hospital after taking Kwang home. After that she laid a complaint with the police on Bee's behalf.

Kan said her daughter was just 15, and should not have to see her father beating people up.
"She has witnessed it many times now, including when he beat me," she said. "Kwang has a maturity beyond her years and can make up her own mind; as her mother I don't talk to her much about these things.

"She and Bee are close, but Bee does not help raise her, contrary to what Sek thinks. She merely looks after my music label."

Kan said she would take her daughter to see a psychiatrist, as she is looking depressed. -

2. Footballer says sorry for sex drama

Atit in apology mode

Football star Atit "Back" Daosawang has apologised for a drama in which he is accused of forcing himself on a teenage girl, agreeing he has set a bad example to youth.

Back went before the media with his coach last week after the teen's mother laid a police complaint about the April 10 incident alleging indecency.

The saga unfolded when the girl, a sixth former at Assumption College in Bangkok, posted a warning about him on social media. The two met recently on Instagram.

Police in Nonthaburi have called in Back, who plays for Muang Thong United and the national team. He has put off the meeting until Tuesday.

The teen's mother said Back had lured her daughter, 17, to his home and attempted to drag her up to his bedroom. She managed to flee and alerted a security guard and a friend.

Back, who works for the police welfare division and now faces an internal inquiry there over the incident, admits scolding the girl when he did not get his way. However, he denies trying to force her into his room.

His team has already passed judgement, however, imposing a six-month, 50% pay cut on the football star.

Appearing before the media, Back apologised to the girl's family, his fans and the team for setting a poor example.

"I am sorry to [the girl's] parents ... my behaviour has caused them to suffer a loss of reputation. It's a valuable life lesson. I will draw on it to make myself a better person, as I don't want others to do as I did," he said.

While coach Kiatisuk "Zico" Senamuang has hinted darkly he could be dropped from the team, Back admitted he and his family were stressed over the incident, but insisted it would not affect his playing.

The girl's father took her to meet prosecutors last week. Commenting after the meeting, he welcomed the team's decision to cut Back’s pay, but said the law must now take its course.

"Initially we were prepared to talk to Back, but changed our mind after he wrote on Instagram that our daughter intended to have him caught. That claim upset us greatly, as it's untrue," he said. The family had yet to hear from Back's family, his club, or the national team.

He had a stiff warning for Back, who has a reputation as a ladies' man: "Don't go thinking you are handsome and rich, so you can get away with whatever you like. Women won't always be easy. I hope the law can teach you a lesson," he said. -

3. Actress 'didn't steal' new lover

Ball, Aum, Cartoon
Sexy actress Lukkana "Aum" Wattanawongsiri denies rumours her new love, Chiang Mai hotel owner Kritsana "Ball" Amitsoon, left another woman to take up with her.

"I didn't steal anyone's husband, and nor did Ball leave anyone to take up with me," she said, after netizens criticised their pairing.

The couple had no sooner declared they were an item than internet critics went to work, with one website claiming Ball had a child by another relationship and had dumped his partner in favour of Aum.

Denying the claims, Ball said he had told Aum about his young daughter, Cartoon, from the outset, and published pictures and clips of them together.

They include a clip in which Ball, bearing a large bunch of flowers, asks Aum if they can be together, and another clip in which he and Aum pick up Cartoon at school.

He asked for understanding, saying he did not want his daughter subject to scuttlebutt, and wanted to spare Aum's family any pain.

Later in the week he also vowed legal action, after another website dug up an old picture of him with actress Tunyong Mahawan.

The two were just friends, he insisted. "At the time I asked Aum to be my partner, I was seeing no one else," he said. He had asked the ICT Ministry to track down the website owner.

"That picture was taken on my cellphone, so it's not hard to guess who has spread it," he said.

Tunyong chimed in, insisting the picture was taken with friends and she and Ball were never in a relationship. "People fall in love. Why dig up the past?" she said. Ball had apologised to her for the picture going public.

Responding to the fuss, Aum said Ball told her about his past relationships and his daughter when the two were getting to know each other. "It's the right place, right time and right person," she said.
