Peter in a pickle, Tangmo's faux pas, Sek's 'no fling'

Singer's reputation blues
Peter
Singer and actor Peter Corp Dyrendal is fighting back against critics of his private life, weeks after leaving his wife and two small children to cope alone.

Late last week he posted a picture of himself and two members of his big bike road show, Ride with Me, laying a complaint with Technology Crime Suppression Division police against his internet critics.

In an accompanying message on Facebook, Peter says publicity about his marital strains and claims he has been seeing women on the sly have cost him work and sullied his reputation.

He was accompanied by his manager, Peter Johansen, and one of his two female co-presenters, Prissana “Annie” Pannyasirinkul, who has been linked to him romantically, but denies anything is going on.

“I am acting on the advice of many seniors in the industry to lay a complaint of criminal defamation,” he said, adding the cryptic hashtag, “50% is not a conclusion”.

Peter has offered little comment about his marital problems, which started when his wife, Ployphan “Ploy” Taveerat, posted a message asking when Peter, who had gone absent some weeks before, was thinking of coming home to visit her and their two children, one of whom is barely two months old.

The actor and presenter claims he is busy making his TV series and promoting a movie on the far South in which he stars. In Bangkok last month for the film’s opening, he said criticism of his antics was getting out of control.

“People are attacking me, the people around me, their families … some of it is not appropriate, because it’s just too strong,” he said.

“I do go home occasionally. If you say I don’t love my kids, that would be a big misunderstanding.”

Meanwhile, weeks after her initial plea for Peter to come home, Ploy says she has now given up waiting, as life must carry on.

Ploy is planning to return to her career as an air hostess with Thai Airways International next year.

“My mum picks up the burden of care. I am lucky the kids do not ask after their dad. They are magical to be with, and starting to speak new words. I haven’t seen Peter at home, though we may have crossed paths,” she said.

Media reports said the picture of Peter and friends laying their police complaint dates back to July 24, and concerns three Facebook owners who he says defamed him.-

2. Suicide remarks cause fuss

Tangmo, Singha
Actress Pattaratida “Tangmo” Patcharaveerapong is under fire after likening her recent suicide attempt to the plight of musician Prachathip “Singha” Musikapong, who took his own life after jumping off a city condo.

Tangmo, who took a pill overdose after her former boyfriend disowned their relationship, but recovered from the ordeal, said she empathised with Singha, guitarist of the band Sqweez Animal, and son of red shirt leader Veerakan Musikapong.

Singha jumped from the ninth floor of his Thong Lor condo on July 29, leaving notes for friends and family which suggested a break-up with his girlfriend, singer Pornpawee “Faye” Neerasingh, with whom he argued the night before, might have triggered his decision.

“If you could wake and speak, I would forbid people from criticising your girlfriend,” Tangmo wrote in an impassioned message to Singha’s memory on social media.

“Don’t blame her.

"You made the decision yourself. But you’ve gone, so you probably can’t know, or hear … unlike me, who must wear people’s insults and criticism. Some people who would really rather you were dead.

“One day, if we ever meet, I will tell you how I was able to put up with it all.

“Suicide is not about shifting blame, saying ‘how will you feel if I am not here’. It’s about reaching a point when you think, even in a rush, that if things end with you, everything will get better.”

Singha’s fans rounded on the actress, saying she couched her remarks in inappropriate language, and wasn’t that close to Singha anyway.

The fuss spilled over to Singha’s funeral at Wat That Thong last week, which brought together hundreds of mourners from all political stripes, and was overseen by his father, Mr Veerakan.

Among the hosts were former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra and former deputy PM Suthep Thaugsuban.

Pictures emerged on social media of Tangmo’s wreath placed at the back of the funeral pavilion, facing away from the crowd.

Her fans responded angrily, asking if organisers were trying to stir conflict.

One of Singha’s friends, known on social media as Dudesweet, was moved to respond, saying he and his mates, who were in charge of placing the wreaths, merely ran out of space to hang them.

“Huge numbers turned out every day, and the funeral moved to five pavilions. I had to find places to hang the wreaths wherever I could," he said.

“On the first day when Thaksin [Shinawatra] was host, I bunched them together behind the pavilion. On the second day, when Suthep was host, the same.

“Later I was able to separate those from Singha’s friends, politicians, artists, his fanclub and other professions.

“Try to understand … there were many hundreds of wreaths. Pay a little respect to relatives and Singha himself."

On a lighter note, one of his Singha’s close friends, Win Siriwong, said he was surprised by the outpouring of love for his mate.

“If he knew how many people loved him, he’d be delighted, and would probably want to come back!” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Singha’s girlfriend Faye, who kept a subdued, teary presence at the funeral, penned a message in a booklet handed out to mourners in which she recalls their time together.

“The important thing is not how long we were together, but the time itself. We were able to live every day as if it really counts.

“You don’t have to worry about me. I will take good care of myself. Our feelings are the most important thing, but I know you loved me, and you must know how much I loved you. That’s enough. Wait for me … love you always baby, FayeSingha.” -

3. Beauty queen denies romance

Sek, Nam Petch
Former Miss Thailand second runner-up Sunannika “Nam Petch” Kritsanasuwan denies she is rocker Sek Loso’s new fling, saying she regards him as a teacher and even calls him “Papa”.

After pictures emerged on social media last week of Sek handing a Buddhist amulet to Nam Petch, the former beauty queen was forced to come forward to explain their relationship.
“The amulet was merely a birthday present, and he did not give me gold as some reports claim,” she said.

Asked about reports that she calls the freshly divorced rocker “Papa”, Nam Petch said Sek advises her on how to conduct herself in the industry.

“He briefs me on work, so I call him Papa, because I love him as a teacher. I can’t stop people thinking whatever they like, but I wouldn’t dare try to drum up publicity for myself with Sek,” she said.

Nam Petch was last year linked to champion boxer Sombat “Buakaw” Banchamek, who likewise gave her an amulet, but denied they were anything more than friends.

The boxer’s manager and fans rounded on her after she initially declined to clarify the status of their relationship, amid reports the boxer was so infatuated with the former beauty queen that he bought her a car, gold, and designer handbags.

Nam Petch was forced to beat a hasty retreat, insisting she was merely a student at his city gym, and had known Buakaw since her university days.

Last month, Nam Petch was forced to relinquish her beauty title after a series of raunchy pictures emerged from her youth.

Unimpressed by the publicity, organisers refused to let her accept work in their name.
