Doctors in the house, a nasty surprise, porn denial

Sek vows revenge
Kan, Sek
Rocker Sek Loso is vowing legal action against his estranged wife after she escorted doctors to their home and confiscated his gun, as the pair's marital rift spun into a second week.

He is also threatening to sue the deputy director of the Thanyarak Institute in Pathum Thani, Angun Pataragorn, who he said was among the doctors who "invaded" his home.

In 2012, Dr Angun was in charge of Sek's case when the rocker was admitted to the institute to treat his hard drugs habit. Sek said yesterday that while there, doctors gave him too many sedatives, restrained him physically and paraded him before the media in a semi-drugged state.

The row started after Sek's estranged wife, Wiphakorn "Kan" Sukpimai, who has moved out of the family home, criticised him on social media. She accused him of replaying "bad incidents" from their past, sleeping around, destroying her property and harming her physically.

"Don’t hallucinate too much or you’ll end up back where you were before. I’ll give you a choice between Thanyarak Institute [for detox patients] or Srithanya Hospital [for the mentally ill]. I’ll arrange it for you. You’re in a high place, but you prefer low-life things," she said.

"You’re just a dog. Why don’t you take your evil and do it elsewhere. At the very least you should feel something towards your kids. You’ve taken an old incident from our past and put it on replay for us. But we have our limits," she said in her opening salvo on Sept 5.

Inviting Sek to admire his "handiwork", she published an image of a large bruise on her right arm, and her mobile phone with the screen smashed.

Sek initially took a light-hearted approach to her attack, urging reporters not to read too much into her remarks.

"It’s not about drugs, but a husband and wife arguing. Kan is still a kid where these things are concerned. When you have problems you should keep them inside the family. But now that she's told everyone, she's brought up all that old stuff again. I'm not upset … it’s just the way she feels now," he said.

Sek said his wife was angry because he had destroyed her property.

"I destroyed three of her mobile phones," he said, laughing.

"I told her to come home, and stop going out to the RCA clubs so much. She’s no longer a kid, but is behaving like one. She won’t listen. As an adult, you have to set some strict standards," he said, referring to himself.

Asked if they were still together, he quipped: "We still have our marriage registration document, though I might be single for now.

"If you have evidence I'm taking drugs, bring it on! Visit me at home. If you’re unsure about anything, give me a call," he said.

"She’s not at home, because she’s scared of me. She’s been away a week or so. I don’t know where she is, but I have many people looking for her."

In 2012, Sek was forced into rehab after Kan, during another one of their periodic problem patches, published an image of Sek smoking methamphetamine on social media.

After Sek admitted taking them, his music label, Grammy Entertainment, cancelled its contract with the veteran rocker.

With his career in freefall, Sek admitted himself for treatment at the institute, amid police threats of a jail term if he didn't. He has been on the comeback trail since.

In their latest domestic battle, the couple had declared a truce by mid-week, with Sek pledging to clean up his language and enter the monkhood next year. Kan said she would wait for her husband, even though she held little value in his eyes.

A day later, however, the battle reignited, when Kan accused Sek of sleeping with someone else, and allegedly took doctors to their home to confiscate his gun. Kan later paraded the gun on social media, saying she feared for her children's safety if she left it in his hands.

Sek responded angrily, accusing Kan of taking hard drugs herself, which he said were supplied by a member of her extended family. She denied it, and said Sek was behaving erratically. She published an excerpt of a Line chat in which Sek said he was a god in a previous life.

Despite the increasing gravity of their dispute, Grammy has yet to intervene publicly. At the time this column went to press, the Thanyarak Institute had also said nothing. -

Poj faces trespass charges
Poj and two of his cast
A deserted island resort has delivered director Poj Anon a nasty surprise after he had charges of trespass filed against him.

The company that owns the Crown Nai Yang Suite Hotel, where Poj shot scenes for an upcoming ghost film in June, claim he entered the premises without its consent.

Poj, who spoke to police last week about the claims, said he and his crew shot scenes at the hotel for his teen movie, Mor 6/5 Gla Tah Phi Nee Tsunami, thinking they had obtained permission.

"I'm as surprised as anyone. I'll have to talk to people at the company that scouts locations for us, as they said we had permission to be there," he said.

Poj said the security guard at the hotel was welcoming, but when a shareholder from the company turned up a couple of days later to say they shouldn't be there, he and the crew promptly left. They resumed filming at another location.

"If we hadn’t obtained permission, why didn’t the security guard send us away at the outset?" he asked.

Media reports say the overgrown hotel, on Nai Yang beach close to Sirinat National Park, was abandoned more than 12 years ago. The owner, Toon Mahalap Ltd, asked a representative, Nippon Rangsimantuwong, to lay criminal charges.

The run-down hotel, above and left

Mr Nippon maintains the company refused a written request by Poj’s film company, Guru Films, to shoot scenes there. The complaint names Poj and Jakkrapan Janpeng, who sought the consent on his behalf.

Reporters who spoke to the hotel’s security guard said Poj and his crew turned up in mid-June.

They told him they had permission to film there, so he let them in. However, he found out later the company had in fact declined their request. He spoke to Poj, and he and his crew left.

The case continues. -

Not the nine o'clock news

Sorayut
It’s tough at the top, laments Channel 3 news anchor Sorayut Suthassanachinda, who was linked in the media to a porn clip in which the male protagonist bears a remarkable facial resemblance to himself.

A naked man appears in the clip with a teenage girl, who media reports claim was under-age.

The clip
After the clip surfaced in the media last week, reporters were quick to ask if the man in the clip was a certain well-known Thai news presenter.

Sorayuth responded promptly, taking time out from his morning news show to deny it was him.

He said a well-meaning person sent him the clip on Tuesday night.

"I asked my production team to look into it. We found it comes from a website that offers pornographic files. The man and the young woman are from South Korea.

"The file was posted last month and runs for seven minutes. The segment that appeared in local social media is the tail end.

"However, it's clear the couple are speaking a foreign language throughout," he said, adding he feels lonely at the top.
