dad's the word, queen dethroned, a lot of front, forward looking

Who’s the daddy now?
Max, Sarah, Mike
Singer and actor Pirat “Mike” Nitipaisankul has admitted being the father of a newborn child out of marriage.

Mike went before the media on Thursday to confirm reports he was the father of a week-old child, ‘‘Maxwell’’, born to former flame Italian-Thai model Sarah Casinghini, 22, after she leaked the news on social media.

Admission time
A serious looking Mike managed to get through his press conference without uttering the words: “I’m the proud father of this child,” though his fanclub quickly forgave him, praising him for being man enough to say anything at all.

Mike said he initially decided not to comment on the fatherhood rumours, but found the pressure of media speculation too much to bear. Earlier, his manager denied the reports were true.

The actor said he had decided against seeking a paternity test, as it was unnecessary. “I already love him, and am willing to take responsibility,” he said.

“I was present in the delivery room a week ago when Sarah gave birth. As soon as I saw his face, I knew [he was my son].”

Mike said he found out two or three months ago that Sarah was pregnant. While no longer an item, they are still friends. “We have yet to decide where the child will live, or even on his formal name, though we have agreed that it should start with the letter M.”

He visited mother and child every day while Sarah was in hospital, and has dropped in to see the child occasionally since.

His family had supported him through the ordeal, though they had yet to meet the child.

Asked whether Maxwell was an accident, Mike said he would rather not talk about what went on in bed between him and Sarah.

“It’s enough to say that many fathers must know how miraculous it feels to see their child come into the world.”

But he would not say whether one day he would marry Sarah, and asked reporters to keep their distance, saying they should now leave them alone. -

Think twice about pageants

Nam Petch
Former Miss Thailand Universe second runner-up Sunannika “Nam Petch” Kritsanasuwan, forced to relinquish her title after a series of raunchy pictures emerged from her youth, is warning youngsters to think twice before putting themselves forward for the pageant.

“Could I advise youngsters thinking about competing to take my experience as a cautionary tale. You should think first about whether it’s all worth it, trading this saga for your future. I don’t want anyone else to have to go through what I did,” she told one interviewer on Thursday.

Nam Petch, 21, said organisers forced her to relinquish her title by refusing to let her accept work in the name of the pageant. She was still waiting for her 200,000 baht prize money, and was initially reluctant to give up her crown, as she felt she earned it legitimately.

“I know I’ll have to surrender it eventually, though I am unhappy about it.”

Earlier last week, a tearful Nam Petch went before the media to admit she had posed as a “pretty”, or product presenter in her late teens for a series of raunchy shots in which she spreads her legs in a car and sits on a man’s lap. However, she insists she did it to help her family get by.

Nam Petch said she took the work to help cover medical expenses for her mother, who needed an operation. She denied social media claims she had sold her body, or was in the care of a wealthy older man.

The title is now held by first-runner up Pimbongkod “Ellie” Chankaew, after the winner, Weluree “Fai” Ditsayabut, gave up her crown in June after a storm of criticism about anti-red shirt comments she made, and a public perception she was too fat.

Accusing the organisers of double-standards, Nam Petch asked why she was being forced to relinquish the title, when Ellie had been caught out in pictures kissing a young man in bed.

“So society thinks this is acceptable, does it?” she asked.

Despite her ordeal as a fallen Miss Universe Thailand, she said she was open to offers from the entertainment industry. -

Bigger is better?

Amie
Model Omsawan “Amie” Sirikittirat says she is surprised she has recovered so soon after an operation to enlarge her breasts.

Amie last week took her surgeon before the media to talk about her operation, in which she had 700cc silicone implants put in.

She said she is suffering no pain, despite the fact the first two sets of implants burst in the operating theatre.

“When I spoke to the doctor initially, he told me he would put in 600cc, and I objected,” Amie, who has long wanted larger breasts, said.

In fact, her doctor, from the Amed clinic in Bangkok, attempted to put in 700cc implants. When they burst, he put in 600cc implants. When they too broke apart, he tried again with 700cc implants, finally to meet with success after two operations.

Amie said she was back on her feet just three days later. “When I stood in front of the mirror for the first time, I felt just like the owner of a new Lamborghini.”

Her breast job had impressed her boyfriend, tearaway Taiwanese model and singer Howard Wang, who now refers to her as “my monster boobs”.

“He saw how scared I was before the operation, and asked me if I was sure I wanted to get it done,” Amie said.

“I told Howard I was afraid he would stray. He follows girls with large breasts on social media.

“Howard said he’d still love me regardless, as he knew I was still a good kid.

“But I have noticed a difference. Before, he asked me why I rarely bothered to get dressed up and wear make-up.

"Now he tells me not to bother, just to get my hair done.”

Howard, a model and former singer who had lived in Thailand since a child, was deported last year for assault and drugs offences.

Amie now wants to get her nose done, keeps in contact with Howard by video and plans to visit him in Taiwan to show off her new breasts next month. -

Changing sides
Ju
Actress Janie Tienphosuwan is dropping hints that her marriage to a millionaire businessman is over, cancelling her Facebook account and starting a new one in which she has posted the song, Begin Again.

Her new account, named Janienineeleven, last week also carried the message: “How you see your future is much more important than what has happened in the past.”

Neither superstar Janie nor her husband, Chonsawat “Ae” Asavahame have gone before the media, despite claims their marriage ended amid a storm of acrimony.

Media reports say Ae, chairman of the Samut Prakan Provincial Administrative Organisation, has taken up with a young woman who helps him prepare for his weekend motor racing meets, while Janie is now seeing a tomboy businesswoman, Kalayada “Ju” Lohacharoenvanich.

Sources late last week said Janie is preparing to break her silence and plans a month-long trip overseas to recover from her ordeal. Ae has refused to comment on his marriage, saying his duties as an elected official are more important.
