Actress Pattarida "Tangmo'' Patcharaweerapong says it is too early to conclude if her speeches from the Democracy Monument protest stage are behind an acid attack on her father's car.
Her father, Sophon, laid a complaint with Kok Kram police in Samut Sakhon on Thursday after someone attacked his car outside the family home on Tuesday night.
The lone culprit, whose actions have been caught on security camera footage, turned up about 10pm on a gold Honda Wave motorcycle without a licence plate. He threw acid on the bonnet of the car, and sped off.
Tangmo, who was the first to notice the damage after she went out to retrieve some items from the car, says it is too early to conclude if her recent speeches at the Democrat-run rally on Ratchadamnoen Avenue are to blame.

The actress and her former student-activist father took to the stage on Nov 5 to criticise Thaksin Shinawatra over the government's blanket amnesty bill.
Thaksin's lawyer threatened to sue her for defamation, but two days later changed his mind, saying she was still young and deserved another chance. Tangmo, known for her forthright manner, denies the acid attack scared her.
"It's a threat, but over what I don't know. Many people are inclined to think it's politics, but my family and I have never had problems with anyone,'' she said.
"If I was immediately to lay the blame without knowing the details it would be too mean-spirited. I have to consider the matter first, and look at the security footage. It could simply be someone who doesn't like me.
"We haven't gone on stage much. But even if the motive is politics, I think I'm better just carrying on with my life as normal.
"The cause will make itself clear before long. Whether I go up on stage again depends on my schedule, and whether I have anything to say.''
She also delivered a blunt message for anyone who wants to do her harm.

"There will always be people who like and dislike us. If I'm too apprehensive, I won't be natural. It would look as if I'm spooking myself.''
Mr Sophon said he bought the car for Tangmo as a birthday present, but she asked to swap it for his vehicle, as it was bigger.
As the police investigate the acid-throwing attack, he has asked security at the housing estate where he lives to keep a closer eye on visitors. -

A Bangkok woman is making light of an image on social media in which she shares a drink with former prime minister Thaksin Shinwatra, saying she merely asked to pose for a picture with him because he's famous.
The image, which news reports say was first posted on Instagram about six months ago, started doing the rounds of social media last week. It shows Thaksin sitting with a long-haired, attractive woman, sipping from tall flute glasses. The venue is undisclosed.
The woman, who writes under the name Momoe6137 but won't give her real name, said she merely asked Thaksin for a drink so she could have her picture taken, but the media was treating it as a big news event.
"Asking for a picture with someone famous is just like asking for a picture with an ordinary celebrity. The news media shouldn't be treating it this way,'' she wrote last week.
When reporters visited Momoe6137's Facebook page, they found it was set to "private''. However, those who have seen the page report she lives an ordinary life - "she goes out with friends for meals, does a little partying, and even has a boyfriend'', said a report in the anti-Thaksin Manager/ASTV newspaper.
"She shows no sign of having political views or attending political rallies,'' it added.
News reports said Momoe's admission that she posed for a picture with Thaksin should come as a relief to sexy singer Suteewan "Baitoey'' Thaveesin, who has been linked to another image in which Thaksin is walking hand-in-hand with a long-haired woman.
The woman seen walking with Thaksin in what appears to be a shopping centre is wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt and black trousers.
The image, which emerged on social media this month, led to speculation that Baitoey has a romantic interest in Thaksin, which she denies.
Baitoey, who admits singing for Thaksin overseas on two occasions but says their friendship went no further than that, said the image was released to discredit her.
Meanwhile, Thaksin's daughter Paetongtarn says she has now returned to Bangkok after a week-long stay in the UK. She took to Instagram last week to publish a picture of her return ticket on Thai Airways flight TG911 - seat A1 in first class, which left London on Wednesday.
She and her elder sister, Pintongta, went to the UK on Nov 14 on what they said was a work trip.
The young women were unhappy after their travel details were disclosed the week before on social media, including the fact they had checked in more than 150kg of baggage.
An unkind soul leaked a mobile phone picture of their flight booking details, as displayed on a computer check-in monitor. It led to speculation the Shinawatra sisters were fleeing the political heat at home.
The pair denied following in their father's footsteps to seek sanctuary abroad and said they were actually part of a group.
Paetongtarn wrote sarcastically on Instagram that she had now come home because she was worried her family's critics might be missing her.
"I've never published a picture like this before [the image of her return ticket], but things having reached this point, I might as well show that we didn't flee,'' she said. "We were worried you'd miss us, uncle. Seven bags for four people. Okay?'' -

Actress and model Patcharapa "Aum'' Chaichuea says she is 99% confident her socialite boyfriend will never stray, as he's too stand-offish.
Aum says she teased her boyfriend, businessman Pithan "Amp'' Ongkorsit, after reports emerged last week that he had been spotted having an intimate dinner with model Preechaya "Ice'' Pongthananikorn.
"A friend called with me details of the story. I teased Amp about it and asked if he had just happened to meet her,'' Aum said. "He said they don't know each other, and I believe him. He hardly goes anywhere ... we're together all the time.''
Aum said she had never worried about whether Amp could be unfaithful.
"He's too reserved and stand-offish to be interested. He's not haughty - just hard to get to know.
"I can trust him even when I'm not around,'' she said. Asked if she could be rock-solid confident he would never stray, she joked: "Well, let's say 99% sure anyway.''
Meanwhile, netizens are praising the superstar actress and animal lover after she came to the rescue of a dog hit by a vehicle on Loy Krathong night.
Aum, Amp and their parents were returning from floating a krathong close to home when they came upon a dog writhing in pain on the road.
"I told Amp to stop the car, as I knew I had to help,'' she said.
A netizen who came to their aid wrote about the encounter on social media. He published mobile phone images of Aum and Amp tending to the dog with a blanket.
The man said he stopped when he noticed the car in front was flashing its hazard lights. When he got out of the car he saw it was Aum, who was crying.
"She took a blanket from her car to take the dog to the vet, but I told her it had already lost a lot of blood and the best we could do was put the dog on the side of the road. Shortly after, it died,'' he said.
"She felt so sorry for the dog, and wasn't all worried about the state it was in. She's quite a woman,'' he enthused.
Aum said she would like to thank the man who came to her aid.
"He parked his car at an angle to make sure the vehicles behind didn't run over the dog again,'' she said.
"When the dog died I could barely think straight ... I got into my car and realised I had left my keys and blanket on the road.''
