SEK ON ROAD TO REFORM, ANNIE ORPHAN SAGA ENDS, FLUKE TAKES A CHANCE

Sek
Rocker Sek Loso is back home with his family, after the hospital where he was being treated for drug addiction decided to release him as an out-patient.

Sek reunited with his estranged wife and children on Friday at the Thanyarak Institute in Pathum Thani, where the rocker admitted himself for treatment late last year.

Earlier in the week he visited temples on a day trip to Ayuthaya, as hospital officials who accompanied him assessed his suitability to re-enter society. He was accompanied by his mother, lawyer and a carer from Thanyarak.

At the hospital on Friday, an assortment of government and hospital bigwigs turned out before the media to relaunch Sek into the world, saying he had set an example to other Thais struggling with drugs.

Among the phuyai who turned out to give their blessing to a reformed Sek - and promote the government's anti-drugs campaign - were Justice Minister Pracha Promnok, Public Health Minister Wittaya Buranasiri, former army chief and adviser to the PM Chaisit Shinawatra, justice secretary Thirachai Wutthitham, and institute director Wirot Wirachai.

Gen Chaisit said huge numbers of Thais had contacted authorities wanting to go drugs-free after talking inspiration from Sek's example.

Mr Thirachai said Sek was now 90% back to normal. Sek had agreed to present an anti-drugs campaign, he said.

Sek said he was willing to gamble with his life that he would never go back to taking drugs.

"If you love Sek Loso, and you are on drugs, please seek help,'' he said.

Such was the poor state of his health when he arrived at the hospital, nurses bound his hands together on his first night.

"It was a strange feeling, and made me feel guilty that I had abandoned myself to drugs for so long,'' he said.

When he woke every day, he would have to take exercise.

"They made me play football. We had no choice - but it did me good,'' he said.

He also joined group therapy sessions, sharing his experiences with other patients. He bonded with the place so much that he now regards Thanyarak as a second home.

"I wrote 20 songs while I was in care, but I was unable to compose any to woo the nurses, as they all have boyfriends already,'' he joked.

Turning to his family, whom he embraced tearfully as reporters looked on, Sek said his drugs habit almost drove them apart.

"I'm not willing to risk losing my wife or children again. My job is to look after them. I may not be the best husband or father in the world, but I'm not the worst either,'' he said.

Sek's estranged wife, Wiphakorn "Kan'' Sukpimai, started the Sek drugs saga rolling when she published pictures of Sek smoking methamphetamines.

She said on Friday she was delighted Sek had turned over a new leaf.

Kan, who presented him with a bunch of flowers, said she was willing to forgive him everything, except his dalliances with other women.

While he was willing to accept him for a visit back home, they would have to talk together "at length'' if he wanted to reunite as a family.

In response to Kan's revelations, Sek went before the media to admit taking drugs, which he said help fuel his creativity as an artist. He now denies that artists need to take drugs to improve their work.

He also admitted having many women in his life, including his manager, Pornpimon "Aom'' Thephichai.

His music label, Grammy Entertainment, cancelled its contract with the rock star.

Sek said he intends to visit Grammy now that he has been released. He is confident the record label will let him back into the fold.

Police are also interested in hearing from Sek about who supplied him with his drugs.

When the gathering at Thanyrak ended, Sek accompanied his wife and children back home. -

Film, Annie
RS superstar Rattapoom "Film'' Tokongsub says he is delighted his paternity suit dispute with actress Rungnapa "Annie'' Brooks is now at an end.

Both sides called off their long-running legal battle after two hours of conciliation talks at the Thanyaburi Court on Tuesday.

In September, 2010, little-known actress Annie claimed she gave birth to Film's unwanted son, Tekayu, then aged three months.

Film refused to acknowledge he was the father until she submitted the child's DNA to a paternity test. Annie refused, and both sides took each other to court.

"I am delighted the child can now get on with his life,'' Film said on Wednesday.

"Tekayu will finally get to know who his real father is ... but as for the identity of the real father, I have no comment,'' he said.

"The other party [Annie] has asked that we not disclose details of the agreement, but I am not worried this matter will come back to haunt me.

"We have waited a long time, but were confident the truth would come out. I will no longer be the villain of society,'' he said.

Pressed on the identity of the child's father, Film's mother, Kormmon, said: "It has nothing to do with us,'' adding she was pleased her son's suffering was now at an end.

Annie declined comment.

Annie agreed to withdraw her defamation suit against Films boss, RS Promotion head Surachai "Hia Hor'' Chetchotisak. Film, meanwhile, agreed to withdraw his defamation suit against Annie.

After Film disavowed any biological link to the child, Thais rounded on him for being an irresponsible dad, and his fledgling "inter'' career threatened to nosedive.

The beleaguered superstar, admitted to hospital with a drug overdose for stress, suggested he would accept responsibility for the child regardless.

Film sued Annie in the Criminal Court in January of last year for saying on television that Film lacked virtue for refusing to admit responsibility.

In October last year, Film's boss Hia Hor suggested Annie was seeing four men at the time she supposedly fell pregnant with Tekayu.

The Lawyers Council's Thon Buri section started legal action against Hia Hor on Annie's behalf.

The mediation decision on Tuesday brings to an end both Film's suit, and the one taken by the Lawyers Council.

As recently as last May, Film said any settlement was unlikely, as he wanted to force the issue to a DNA test.

"I want the truth. Everyone wants to know. I can't force her to submit the child's DNA for a paternity test. Only the court can do that.'' -

Fluke, Sara, Toey
Actor and singer Pachara "Fluke'' Thammon has left one ill-fated relationship only to stumble into another.

He started flirting with a girl who it turned out was involved with someone else.

Fluke, one of three finalists in the Star 3 talent quest, and perhaps best known for his starring role in the gay soap Tomorrow I'll Still Love You, recently broke up with his long-term girlfriend, a journalist called Tar.

The experience was so painful he took to cutting his own wrists.

He was still feeling sore after that relationship ended when he travelled to China with a group of celebrities late last year.

Among them was Academy Fantasia 3 contestant Nalintara "Sara'' Hohler.

"We spent only one day together, but we hit it off immediately,'' he said last week.

"When we returned to Bangkok we carried on chatting and texting.''

Sara sees DJ Thanothai "Toey'' Aur-amornrat, but Fluke says he didn't know it at the time.

"We chatted as friends, rather than lovers. But I admit that once we clicked, I came on strong,'' he said.

Fluke says that when he found out Sara was Toey's girl, he immediately stopped flirting.

However, the episode led to a stiff exchange of words on Twitter between Toey and Fluke, with some reports saying they almost came to blows.

Fluke is now repentant, saying he has only himself to blame.

"I would like to apologise to everyone, as I was in the wrong,'' he said.

Fluke says he still keeps in contact with old flame Sara, but admits the chances of their getting back together are remote.

"In the end we were arguing virtually every day. We decided it was best to call it off. We were together a long time, and leaving her really hurt.

"I cut my wrists, the way today's youth do - but it was nothing too serious,'' he said with a laugh.
