CELEBRITY REHAB ( SEK EDITION), NEW MANAGER, WHAT FUTURE FOR NEW HOME?

Sek
Rocker Sek Loso has entered treatment for his drug habit, which doctors say is a heavy addiction. Sek entered the Thanyarak Institute in Pathum Thani on Dec 27.

The Office of the Narcotics Control Board, which earlier gave the rocker a week to report and enter rehab or face the prospect of a six month jail term, recommended the place to Sek's lawyer, Udom Prongfa.

"Even before the ONCB's notice arrived, Sek told me he wanted to enter treatment,'' Mr Prongfa said.

He went before the media along with Sek's doctor from the institute, members of the rocker's family and senior government officials on Thursday to discuss the star's case.

Boonruang Trairuangvoravat, deputy director of the Medical Services Department said doctors found traces of amphetamines in Sek's body. "When doctors examined Sek they found him an exhausted, weakened state, in keeping with someone who has taken drugs for a year or more.''

The drugs were having an effect on Sek's emotions and mental state, as his addiction had reached a serious stage. Doctors thought he would need four to six months of treatment.

Deputy ONCB head Narong Ratananukul said his agency would not take legal action against Sek for taking drugs, as he admitted himself for treatment voluntarily.

It wanted to question him about where he bought the drugs, but that would have to wait until he was better.

The institute's deputy director Angun Pataragorn said Sek was doing better after his first few days in treatment.

"He goes through phases when he hears things, or is spooked by what imagines is happening around him. But he can go through lucid patches when he talks happily about his family, and what he wants to eat,'' he said.

Earlier, Sek's estranged wife Wiphakorn "Kan'' Sukpimai, said she was confident Sek would return to his old self after treatment.
Kan
Kan began the saga when she published on Facebook pictures of Sek smoking methamphetamines.

Kan accused Sek of throwing herself and their three children out of their home, breaching the terms of a separation agreement, mistreating her physically and mentally, and smoking drugs in front of the children.

"I have no interest in getting back with Sek, but feel sorry for him,'' she said. "I want the kids to see him again the way he once was.''

On Dec 24, Sek posted pictures on Facebook of himself at a ceremony held at his home, where he prayed before sacred objects as a way of seeking forgiveness for his misdeeds.

"Kan and I are now back on good terms, and we understand each other,'' he claimed.

Kan denied it, saying they had yet to talk about their relationship.

"I have visited him a couple of times with the kids. His spirits brightened when he saw us. But we didn't talk much about the divorce. I just listened to him sound off for five or six hours,'' she said.

"When I saw him for the first time after a long time apart, I realised he was in no position to talk about such things. He is not his normal self. He has to quit drugs first and make himself better,'' she said.

In response to Kan's initial revelations, Sek went before the media to admit taking drugs, which he said stimulate his creativity as an artist.

His music label, Grammy Entertainment, responded by cancelling its contract with the rock star, ending their 16-year professional relationship. Sek's mother and elder brother have now visited Grammy to tender an apology on his behalf. -

Sek Loso's personal manager - referred popularly in the media as the "new woman'' in his life, despite her denials - is battling trouble on a new front.

Sek paraded his manager, Pornpimon "Aom'' Thephichai, before reporters last month when he called them to his home to admit he takes drugs.

Previously he admitted having many women in his life, including Aom.

He kissed her and hugged her, while Aom smiled but said little.

Aom gets a frosty reception whenever Sek's estranged wife, Kan, visits with the children.

Kan said she ignores Aom when she visits. "I saw her, but I don't look at her, or greet her. I don't regard her as important.''

Kan last week posted a message on Facebook saying she didn't want to be associated with the "low women'' in Sek's life.

As if Sek's unwanted attentions were not enough, Aom is now facing accusations she is a two-timer.
Sek, Aom
An Australian man who has seen the publicity about Aom's relationship with Sek has gone to the media claiming Aom tricked him into marrying her last year.

Brendon John Hookey has demanded the return of his marriage dowry and other expenses which he says come to one million baht. The two met on a dating site in October, 2010, while Aom was working at a restaurant in Samui.

They married in Nakhon Si Thammarat before a gathering of more than 1,500 guests in May, Mr Hookey told Siam Dara magazine.

Brendon said he paid a dowry of 300,000 baht, and bought seven baht in gold and a diamond ring, at the request of Aom's mother. He has threatened to sue to get his money back.

Some reports quoted him as saying that Aom emailed to claim she had fallen pregnant with another man's child.

However, Aom denies sleeping with Sek, or falling pregnant to anyone.

Aom, who denies tricking Mr Hookey into marriage, said the two married out of convenience -she wanted to work in Australia, and he wanted to open a business venture in Thailand - and had agreed to divorce last month. However, news of her relationship with Sek surfaced first.

She is waiting to hear further from Mr Hookey, who has notified police.

"How could I love him? We only met twice. He is much older than me [41], so must have known what he was doing,'' she said.

Aom initially denied she was the new woman in Sek's life, but by week's end admitted the two were talking about it, though had yet to commit. -

Tle

Channel 7 actor Thanapol "Tle'' Nimthaisuk is puzzling over what to do with a 60 million baht bridal home which he bought with his former girlfriend.

The pair bought the place when they were still a couple, but five months ago they started drifting apart.

Tle says he has yet to reach agreement with the woman's family about how to dispose of the asset or share the proceeds. She is older than him and works outside the industry.

The actor opened the Pathum Thani home to the media in April last year, claiming it was his own family spread. Thais wondered how a newcomer star such as Tle could afford such a palatial affair, until an outspoken DJ and TV presenter, Mod Dum, revealed that Tle's girlfriend stumped up most of the money.

Mod Dum said he met the younger sister of Tle's girlfriend when she attempted to sell him face cream. Tle's girlfriend came from a millionaire family in the provinces, Mod Dum said.

Tle hurriedly told the media the house was bought at a knockdown price of 10-15 million baht from the previous owner, a millionaire who started building it five years ago but ran into financial trouble.

"We bought the structure of the house, and did up most of the interior ourselves,'' he said. He added it was nowhere near as big as it appeared on TV, and some of the interiors were not real marble or stone, but in fact fake. The four cars pictured in the garage were bought on hire purchase.

A week later, the younger sister of the woman he was seeing revealed the house was in fact worth 60 million baht. She said three families were living there - her own, her younger sister, and Tle and his family. Tle said last week he and his girlfriend, who were together more than three years, had now broken up.

Media reports quoted him as saying the pair bought the place as a bridal home: "We have yet to reach agreement on what to do with the house, but I don't anticipate any problems,'' he said.

The recent flooding reached the first storey and damaged the cars, which compounded his woes.

However, he would make merit at nine temples over New Year, to rid himself of bad luck.
