DON'T DISS DAD, WORTH THE WAIT, MAJOR OUTING, TRASH TALK TRUCE, A REAL GEM

Mark, Marisa
Thai-German model and actor Markus Naraed "Mark'' Wiedenmann is defending the reputation of his late German father after a Thai woman from his past showed up at his funeral claiming he failed to look after her.

Mark lodged a complaint with Huai Khwang police last week against the woman after she turned up at his father Franz Yosef's hospital bed shortly before his death - years after their relationship ended.

"I have heard that the woman did the rounds of my father's friends and relatives, asking for money to help care for him while he was sick in hospital.

"I don't know how much she asked for, but I know she was not responsible for caring for him,'' he said at the police station. He was accompanied by model and friend Marisa Anita.

The woman visited his father at the hospital. "I have discovered that papers and other belongings of my father have gone missing. When I ask the woman for their return, she refuses.

"A credit card, ATM card and signature stamp of his have also gone missing, which I fear someone could use to seek financial advantage at our expense,'' he said.

The woman also turned up at Yosef's funeral on Aug 21 and caused a scene, claiming that he was a bad man and failed to care for her.

"I feel sorry for my father. They split up years ago.

"As his son, I want to protect my father's reputation,'' said Mark.

"I have argued with the woman many times. At the hospital, she told me my father had no money, and owed debts in Hua Hin, where he lived, and for past hospital visits.

"She took his ATM card to pay the bills, and I thought nothing of it.''

Before he took ill, Yosef was working in China, though his home base was in Hua Hin.

"Later, his current girlfriend, a Chinese woman, arrived to see dad at hospital. She told me my father had plenty of money - including millions of euro and an insurance policy which he had set aside as my inheritance.

"That's when I knew his former girlfriend was lying,'' said Mark.

Huai Khwang police took note of Mark's complaint. -

Willy, Yelly
Actor Willy McIntosh and his wife Yelly are celebrating the arrival of their first child, delivered by in vitro fertilisation.

The couple tried for five years to start a family, and have finally succeeded. They are now planning for a second child.

Yelly gave birth to a baby boy, Wynn, at Bumrungrad Hospital on Aug 19.

She and her husband went before reporters this week to talk about the experience of welcoming their first child into the world.

"It was like a dream,'' said Yelly. "When I saw my child's face for the first time, I didn't cry. I was still in shock. I asked myself if this was really my child,'' she said.

Willy and Yelly have gone through the in vitro procedure 23 times over the past five years, spending 10 million baht in the process.

"He was ready to give up, but I never stopped trying,'' said Yelly, referring to Willy.

"The first thing I said to my child was: `Mummy has waited a long time. Thank you for coming to see me,' '' she said.

"Willy has lost interest in me since the child was born,''she joked.

Willy said watching the suffering Yelly had gone through to have the child made him love her even more.

"I'd only ever seen a woman give birth [on TV soap operas]. The pain, the blood, the suffering ...

"When I saw what she could do, I loved her even more. Whatever she asks for, I have to yield.''

The couple would like a second child, though they are not sure when. "Let's look after this one first,'' they said.

In the meantime, they are busy refurbishing the child's bedroom.  "We decorated it five years ago, when we started trying. It has been waiting ever since,'' said Willy. -

Ben, in white, and his boyfriend
Singer Chalatit "Ben'' Tantiwut has done what almost no male entertainer is prepared to do - own up to being gay.

A Channel 9 reporter last week asked him about pictures of him with another guy which had turned up on his Facebook account.

"That's me and my boyfriend in those leaked pictures,'' said Ben, denying he had tried to cover it up.

"I have been in the industry 10 years, but I have never had to deal with this question. Industry insiders know that when I go to work, I take my boyfriend with me.

"If reporters had asked, I would have told them. But no one ever has asked,'' he said.

Ben puts down his openness to his upbringing. "My family and I talk constantly. If we keep secrets from each other, we feel uncomfortable. It is much better to be in the open,'' he said.

He and his boyfriend have been together eight years, and his family has no problem with their relationship.

"I don't want to hold myself up as an example. But I feel that as long as we are not causing anyone any bother, and are happy, then we can be what we like.''

Ben said he loves kids, and would like to have one of his own some day.

" I want to know if there's some way I can do it.

"I would like to know is there any way for someone to have a child without having to get married,'' he said with a laugh.

"I will have to talk to the experts. Is loving children, or wanting to have a child enough to give me one?'' -

Chompoo, Oiy
Model Saruta "Oiy'' Ruangwiriya has given up her war of words with actress Chompoo "Araya'' Hargate, whom she accused of looking down her nose at her.

Reporters recently asked Chompoo about Oiy allegedly claiming to have gone steady with Chompoo's boyfriend, Witsarut "Nott'' Rangsisipipat.

Oiy denied making the comment, saying she and Nott were merely friends. However, she was unimpressed with Chompoo's response: "I am made of better things than to respond to such remarks.''

Oiy took this to mean that Chompoo was looking down at her. "I would remind Chompoo that she and I both started in the industry the same way ... by winning a talent competition,'' she said.

Chompoo has refused to respond, saying she did not refer to anyone by name. Oiy, who took her boyfriend to meet the media on Thursday, said the drama had left her exhausted, and they were now planning to take a break in Europe.

"I admit what I said was on the strong side. I would like to apologise for causing any unhappiness .. .and I forgive Chompoo for her remarks,'' she said.

Gem dealer Chuchai Chairitthilert says he has no hard feelings after his favourite actor, Thanawat "Pope'' Wattanapoom, wasn't able to pick up a six-figure diamond pendant gift which he had made for him.

Mr Chuchai, who is known for showering diamond gifts on young men in the industry who take his fancy, invited Pope to a function for his jewellery store recently, in which he planned to present him with a pendant made out in the initial "P'', for Pope.

Pope, however, pleaded a schedule clash, so wasn't able to accept the invitation. Asked whether he felt upset about the rejection, Mr Chuchai said Pope never actually turned him down.

"Never mind. If we have an opportunity to meet or talk, I could present it to him then. I will keep it for the meantime.

"Making it gave me pleasure, which is enough. But I could always give it to some other entertainer I like instead,'' said Mr Chuchai.

"I am not so mad over a star that I lose myself. I admire him as much as ever, but I am just like any other fan,'' he said.
