PRINCE OF CLINK, PAT-TAP SCRAP, BOY-FREE DIET, HONG KONG WRONG

Nathan
Self-confessed bad boy Nathan Oman is getting a taste of provincial prison life after failing to make bail in a fraud case against him.

He was jailed last Monday after the district court in Loei province decided to accept charges against him filed by prosecutors.

Nathan appeared before the court in a case stemming from a complaint laid by the extended family of Pitsamai "Maem'' Srikrabuth, a Bangkok teacher who until recently regarded herself as Nathan's adoptive mother.

Maem's aunt by marriage, Sithiporn "Mod'' Kortudomporn, claims Nathan defrauded her of 702,800 baht while he stayed with the family in the province's Chiang Khan district last year.

The court asked Nathan and Mod if they cared to settle before the matter goes before the judges.

Nathan, however, denied all charges, and refused to negotiate with Mod. The court put him in a holding cell to give him time to make bail arrangements.

The faded singing star was unable to find anyone in Loei game enough to post bail, however, so at 5pm he was moved to Loei prison, where he shares a cell in a cellblock housing more than 100 inmates.

By Tuesday, still unable to make bail, the prison cut his dyed golden locks and issued him standard prison garb.

If he cannot make bail, he will have to stay in jail for an initial period of at least 12 days. The court has called both parties back again on March 14.

Nathan works as a receptionist and part-time stage performer at Baramie Residence hotel in Jomtien Beach, Pattaya.

On Wednesday, its owner, Tanakorn Oonhalerk, visited Nathan in jail.

Mr Tanakorn insisted he was merely paying a social visit to the province, and did not intend to post bail for Nathan.

President of the Loei Bar Association, Pranomyong Chaiypa, who is representing Mod, said his client would file a claim for damages before the next hearing. All she wanted was her money back, he said.

Nathan, who is trying to turn over a new leaf by owning up to the lies of his busy past, in December admitted making up stories about an exotic childhood in the Middle East, and acting in a Hollywood blockbuster, The Prince of Red Shoe.

However, he stopped short of a admitting guilt for the suffering he allegedly caused in Loei province. -

Note, Aum
So was it a harmless tap on the shoulder, or a sensual stroking action?

Former actress Rungnapa "Kae'' Phongthipsukon has gone before the media to demonstrate what she says was the harmless shoulder-tap greeting she extended to another woman's boyfriend at a pub outing.

A-list star Patcharapa "Aum'' Chaichuea earlier accused Kae of showing inappropriate interest in her boyfriend, socialite Kornwat "Note'' Chaiwirawat.

She insists Kae rubbed Note's back in a way which suggested they were more than just good friends.

Aum was seated at the same table when she says Kae entered the room and rubbed her boyfriend's back as she passed.

Aum challenged Kae about her behaviour. She denied doing anything improper.

The brief exchange at the city pub spilled into the public domain two weeks ago when Aum - who has upbraided her boyfriend publicly for his interest in other women - was asked to comment on claims that she grabbed Kae by the arm when challenging her about the back rub. She denied accosting her.

Kae, however, insisted Aum grabbed her, and accused the star of being over-the-top jealous and possessive.

"There wasn't a sign stuck to his back!'' she exclaimed. There was no law against greeting a man, even if he belonged to someone else.

Aum last week opened a new round in their disagreement, presenting to reporters a nine-point list of where she said Kae twisted the truth about what happened that night.

She took before reporters her hapless boyfriend Note, and a young female witness from the gathering, to back her claims.

The witness, who works in the industry, confirmed that Kae gave Note a sexy backrub, not a mere shoulder tap.

Note said Kae rubbed his back without uttering even a word of greeting, and insisted he barely knows Kae.

"As she passed, I felt someone's hand on my back,'' he said, referring to Kae.

"I looked across the table and could see everyone was wide-eyed in surprise. I thought, 'Oh, no, here comes trouble,' '' he joked, while insisting that, despite public impressions to the contrary, Aum was able to keep her jealousy in perspective.

Kae, a former actress who works in public relations, called in reporters again, and at their request showed them exactly what she meant by harmless shoulder greeting.

A reporter, back turned to his colleagues, agreed to act as a stand-in for Note.

"It was like this,'' she said, tapping his shoulder briefly.

Yes...
"It wasn't like this ...'' she said, demonstrating a robust up and down rubbing action, as if she was painting a question mark on the young man's back.

No...
"Nor this!'' she said, performing cartwheel motions with her hands, as if to illustrate the childishness of it all.

And no cartwheels
Aum declined to comment on Kae's riposte, saying she feared the saga would have no end. -

"A"
Accusations that he is "eating'' (Thai slang for having his way with) 15 year-old boys go too far, says manager to the stars, Supachai "A'' Sriwichit.

A is bridling at suggestions that he has been seeing secondary students on the sly, though he reckons he knows how the rumour started.

"I have opened a clothes shop opposite Bodin Decha School [in Soi Ramkhamhaeng, Wang Thonglang].

"I go to Korea often, and buy clothes there that I can sell in the shop for fun, or give to young ones in my stable to wear,'' he said.

"The shop has a sofa for welcoming customers. There's an eatery just down the way. Teens from the school across the road like to gather at my shop and chat,'' he said.

"But I'm not eating any of them, as I am pure at heart.''

Helen Pawarsirisan, a kathoey friend who specialises in dishing the dirt on celebrities, was standing by his side as he spoke to reporters.

"A is a generous type who opens his shop to anyone who visits,'' she said.

"Most the teens who gather there are boys ... there are hardly any girls,'' she added helpfully.

Young performers in A's stable had joked that if he wasn't careful, he could expect a visit from the Pavena Foundation for Children and Women, which looks after abused youngsters.

Another rumour claimed that the boys who gather at the shop had started fighting over A, a millionaire talent manager and star-maker who counts A-lister Patcharapa "Aum'' Chaichuea among his clients.

"But when one of my people asked the kids if they were really arguing over me, they ran off home,'' he joked. -

Pam
Sexy star Panpim "Pam'' Techathanachaipat is upset after Hong Kong immigration detained her on suspicion of being a prostitute.

Pam was questioned at Hong Kong airport early in January when she turned up at passport control with a family group of 16.

They intended to stay just a few days on holiday, but the officials thought she was too good looking to be an ordinary visitor, and wondered if the real intention of her visit was to sell her body.

"They asked me to step into an interview room, where they pummelled me with questions for an hour,'' she said last week.

"I cried, as nothing like this had happened to me before. I've visited France and the US without any problems, and thought Hong Kong should be an easy country to enter. In fact, it was the opposite,'' she told reporters.

Pam said she was sensibly, rather than tartily dressed. However, she had changed her name about two years ago, and not travelled anywhere in the period since, which aroused their suspicions.

"I told them I was travelling with a family group, but everyone has different surnames, as they're all married,'' she said.

Pam said she was finally able to convince immigration to let her go when she showed them pictures of herself as a performer which she keeps on her mobile phone.

"Next time I'll prepare a dossier of my work to show them that I really do work in the entertainment industry,'' she said.
