GIRLS ON FILM, PUNCH ON THE NOSE, NO MAN GOOD ENOUGH

Film
Superstar Film Rattapoom is in trouble with women again, even as he struggles to recover his popularity in the wake of a paternity scandal.

Former singer Arinrada ''Fai'' Pitimarach, who claims she saw Film secretly for eight years, says Film has acted in an unmanly fashion, refusing to admit they were an item even after their relationship became public.

After she appeared on a TV show airing details of their relationship, Film effectively pulled the plug on their coupling, telling the media that Fai was just a girl he knew.

Fai
Fai said she has stuck by Film all these years, willing to remain his secret flame, for the sake of his career.

Film's bosses did not want news of his romantic attachments going public, as it could upset his fans, and sully his boy-next-door image.

Film plans to enter the monkhood this month. Fai said that before severing contact, Film asked her not to attend his ordination ceremony, as he was worried she might draw media attention.

''I went on TV, and said that he had barred me from attending.

''Film called me from Korea, during a visit with family, to ask me why I went on TV. He thought everything I said was designed to harm him,'' she said. Since then, Film has told his Twitter followers that he and Fai no longer talk.

''I knew there was a risk that it would end this way, and in a sense I have only myself to blame.

''But I wish he would tell me to my face rather than through the media that our relationship is over. It hurts,'' Fai said in tears.

She said Film bought her a ring, took her overseas every year, and spoke to her on the phone every day. He planned to lift the veil on their relationship after his contract with entertainment giant RS Promotion ran out in two years. Film promised to take her before the media to declare her his girlfriend.

In September, Film became embroiled in a paternity scandal with a former fling he met on the set of a soap opera last year.

Little-known actress Rungnapa ''Annie'' Brook emerged to claim that Film was the father of her three-month-old child.

Annie
Film insisted on a DNA test to prove the child's paternity. The public rounded on the star, insisting he should face up to his responsibility, and the row quickly divided along gender lines.

A women's group is taking action on Annie's behalf, suing the boss of Film's entertainment label after he suggested Annie was a loose woman, and could have fallen pregnant to men other than Film.

The group is also suing Poj Anon, an outspoken director and friend of Film's who threatened legal action against Annie or anyone else who claimed Film was the father.

Fai said she stuck by Film even at the height of his paternity troubles. ''I called to give him moral encouragement, as I believed his assurances that he would make it all OK.

''At first when he denied we were an item, I thought he was doing it out of form. However as time went by, I suspected he might have tricked me. It's as if I never had any presence or value in his life.''

The legal row set off by the paternity saga stepped up a notch last week, with Film telling the media that his label RS Promotion is counter-suing Annie for defamation.

In response, Annie penned a poem for a newspaper in which she vowed to fight on and raise her son Teekayu alone.

Annie raises the child, but has agreed to let Dr Cholatis Sinratchatanand, president of the Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand, adopt him and pay for his education expenses.

Annie said that as Film plans to enter the monkhood, he should consider apologising for causing her so much distress. She would forgive, but never forget. ''It's customary for Thais as they enter the monkhood to seek forgiveness for their sins,'' she said.

Speaking to reporters, Film quickly agreed he should say sorry. However, he added he would probably not speak to Annie in person, as the pair was now estranged.

Film plans to enter the monkhood at a temple in Saraburi on Thursday. Later, he will move to a temple in Chiang Mai.

The superstar insists he is entering the monkhood to make merit to his parents, rather than seek to cleanse his past from a series of horrible mishaps. He declined to comment on his problems with Fai. -

Mor Keng
A singer from the Star 6 talent quest says he has no hard feelings after the bereaved relative of a dead man assaulted him in the grounds of a city hospital.

Wayo ''Mor Keng'' Assawarungruang, above, a fifth-year medical student, said he was leaving Sririraj Hospital on Nov 12 when he was attacked.

Mor Keng, who studies at the hospital, lodged a complaint with Bangkok Noi police after suffering a bleeding nose and lacerated tongue when a man at the hospital punched him.

The young singer, who spoke to reporters about his ordeal, said he hopped in a taxi after his class ended, heading for home.

He found a rescue foundation vehicle was parked outside the forensic pathology building, holding up traffic.

''They teach us to be alert for security breaches at the hospital, and report any if we find them,'' he said.

''Normally, vehicles that pick up or deliver bodies to the hospital, park in front of the building, but this one parked behind. The driver had also left the vehicle without its hazard lights on.

''I went inside and found the driver, who said they were waiting to transport a body. He said there was a commotion at the front, which forced him to park at the rear.

''A man from a group nearby approached me, and started reprimanding me. He was unhappy, as if he thought I was trying to rush them.

''We exchanged words, and I returned to the taxi. But the man followed me out, and asked me to step out of the vehicle. He demanded my name, and started taking pictures of me with his mobile phone. I shielded my face, and he hit me.''

Mor Keng says he now understands that the man, whom he does not know, was probably acting out of grief, as the dead man was his father.

''I hold no grudges, and am happy to apologise or accept his apology if he wants make contact.

''I didn't consider his feelings. He was probably still in grief over the loss of his father,'' he said, denying he was trying to act as the local hospital heavy in his dealings with the family. -

Yui
Actress Jeeranan ''Yui'' Manojam says ''No'' to most of the men in her life.

The actress admits that as she gets older, she is getting fussier about who she wants as a boyfriend.

''Many men approach me, and they look like good people. But as soon as we start talking, I ask if we can just be friends,'' she said. ''I tell them directly: `Don't waste your time'.''

Friends and relatives introduce Yui to young men who are single, have means and are looking for a relationship.

''But as soon as we start talking, I can see they are not the men for me,'' said Yui, who was once involved with Bodyslam guitarist Thanadol ''Pit'' Changsawek, and is close friends with actor Than Thanakorn (Thongchai Wanpuak).

''Maybe it's because I'm getting older, and I have some experience behind me now. I consider these things more than I did when I was a youngster.

''Before I start going out with anyone, I have to give him a good, hard look,'' she said.
