EX-ATTACK, BARGAIN BRIDE, BIG FOOT, NIP-SLIP

Dan
A Channel 7 actor is lucky to get away with light burns after he went into battle with a blood-soaked ex-girlfriend who splashed him with a caustic liquid.

Danai "Dan'' Samutkojorn, above, is nursing burns to his face and hands after his former girlfriend broke into his home in Bung Kum, Bangkok, on Wednesday and doused him and a female visitor from the US with an unknown liquid.

Dan says his former girlfriend, Praewpan "Kaew'' Somphongmit, was angry to find him there with the woman, whom he insists is just a friend.

Dan tried to calm Kaew down: "I thought we were making progress when Kaew pulled out a bottle and started splashing us with it.''

Dan said his US friend ducked, but the bubbling substance still hit her on the back. "I tried to wrest the bottle away, but was hit in the face and hands.

"I didn't put up my hands just to shield my face,'' he added, denying he acted out of actor's vanity.

Dan said he managed to wrest the bottle away, and gave it to his friend, who took shelter in another room.

"When the substance landed on me, I felt a stinging sensation, though doctors tell me it's probably not acid ... caustic soda, perhaps. The wounds to my face are slight, and will not take long to heal,'' he said.

Police and security at his housing estate broke up the row, and sent Dan and his friend for treatment at Synphaet General Hospital.

Dan, wearing large bandages on both hands, has now laid a complaint with Khok Kham police. He said Kaew appeared before him covered in blood, after she cut herself trying to break into his place.

"I don't want her to go to jail, as I understand she was probably upset to see me with someone else. I just want her to leave me alone,'' he told journalists.

Kaew went before reporters on Friday to deny she intended harming Dan or his female friend.

She admitted trying to break into his place but said she was worried after not hearing from him for several days. Their relationship ended six months ago, but they were still in regular contact.

She could not accept the thought of life without him and had prepared a mix of bathroom cleanser and caustic soda, which she intended to drink herself. "I didn't want to die at home alone. I wanted him to see it,'' she said.

"I announced my intention to drink it, but he wrested the bottle away, saying he didn't want me dying in his home.''

She was still prepared to die for Dan, but had yet to hear from the police.

Dan said earlier that Kaew had let herself into his place before: "It's not the first time she has broken in. Last time she trashed the furniture.''

His female friend has been treated for burns to her back.

Earlier, a woman who identified herself as Dan's former girlfriend wrote on Facebook that no one seemed interested in her plight.

"Dan claimed he knew the American girl just four days and they met on Facebook.

"No one was interested in me - my wounds needed more than 20 stitches - but almost 30 police and celebrity-crazy fans formed a parade to take Dan to hospital,'' she sniffed. -

Mor Oiy, Micky

A saucy late-night TV presenter has delayed her marriage plans to a young man once involved in a gay love spat, and cut her bridal price - though she insists the two events are not linked.

Jutharat "Mor Oiy'' Athakorn has delayed until mid-2011 her marriage to model and co-presenter Nathapong "Micky'' Chopcheun.

She has also cut her bridal price (sin sot) from the five million baht she demanded at the outset, down to just one million baht - because she can see that he is committed to her.

This is the second time the couple have delayed their nuptials, first announced in May.

The first delay came just a month after gay designer Kongkiat "Mapraow'' Kehtkaew released revealing pictures of himself with Mor Oiy's betrothed.

Mor Oiy threatened to sue, while fiance Micky insisted he was straight and knew Mapraow only through work.

One picture shows Mapraow nuzzling into the cheek of a bare-chested Micky.

In the other picture, Mapraow has his hands around the young man's neck.

The wedding was originally timed for July, but Micky admitted that after the pictures surfaced, he would have to convince Mor Oiy's family that he was the right man for her.

The new date was set for this month, but Mor Oiy (new name, Jenny), accompanied by her beau, told reporters last week that the date has now been pushed forward another six months.

"We were planning to hold the wedding in Sing Buri, at the home of a relative,'' said Micky.

"But the place was washed out by floods. When the waters recede we have to rebuild it,'' he said.

Mor Oiy said her family still held doubts about Micky's suitability. "My younger brother sees Micky as hot tempered, and asks Mum if he will beat me up.

"When Micky comes to our place, my mother worries he will steal the household cutlery.''

Mor Oiy said she didn't want her husband-to-be to have to go into debt just to marry her. She had decided to cut her bridal price by four million baht.

A Channel 7 actor may have contracted elephantiasis after helping out stricken residents during last month's heavy floods.

Johnson
Thewin "Johnson'' Khunaratnawat was admitted to Paolo Hospital hospital last week with swollen feet.

Gossip Star magazine carried a gruesome picture of him sitting on a blood-stained duvet, as nurses took blood samples from his puffy feet.

Johnson suspects he contracted the infection after wading about in flood waters in Nakhon Ratchasima, and Hat Yai, Songkhla.

"I'm more worried about losing work than the prospect of having contracted elephant feet disease,'' he said.

The actor has undergone an operation to relieve the swelling, and doctors will know what afflicts him when the results of blood tests arrive in a few days.

A socialite ladyboy once accused of being a sideline girl denies she orchestraed an incident in which her breast fell out of her bra-less top.

Ratchada "Amie'' Krutramas says she was none the wiser when her breast fell out of a skimpy top she wore at a promotion for a brewery outside Central Rama III department store last week.

Amie
"I was hanging on to a pole at the end of the catwalk, getting in to the swing of things, when it just fell out,'' she said.

Instantly, people in the audience lifted their cameras.

The pictures have been widely published on the internet and in the gossip press.

"You can see from the pictures that I didn't make any attempt to haul up my top. I honestly didn't know what happened,'' she told reporters, denying claims she let her breast slip out to drum up publicity.

Amie sprang to fame in August when news emerged that she had visited the socialite boyfriend of A-list actress Patcharapa "Aum'' Chaichua at a city apartment to help him and his friends cheer the World Cup football.

Aum went before the media to dispel suggestions that her love interest, Kornwat "Note'' Chaiwirawat had fallen for Amie. Amie was just a football cheer girl, Aum said dismissively.

Rejecting suggestions she was a mere "sideline girl'' (call girl), however, Amie said the publicity hurt her.

Commenting on the breast exposure fuss, Amie said she didn't sleep until 5am the day after the incident, as friends were busy all night calling her to say that pictures of her nip-slip had already found their way onto the internet.

"I was wearing silicone, which I thought would protect me. Next time I will have to put a sticker in place over my breasts for added protection,'' she said.
