OF LOST LOVE, TEETH AND PHONES

Sunny
Actor ''Sunny'' Suwanmethanon stands accused of leaking old cellphone pictures of himself getting friendly with an actress who now has her own boyfriend.

Yet this young man has a poor long-term memory and is so introspective that the media says he lives in his own world. By his own admission, he can't even remember what colour underpants he put on today, still less plot and conspire - how unfair is that?

For the second week in a row, pictures which Thai-French actor Sunny took of himself with actress Piyada ''Aom'' Akkaraseranee made it on to the front pages of Thai red tops (racy dailies).

Sunny called Aom to apologise after the pictures became public. He forgot his cellphone in a taxi eight months ago. Someone found the phone and spread the pictures widely on the internet, which show the pair sitting on a bed, holding each other close, smiling and nestling into each other.

Sunny and Aom insist they are just friends. The pictures were taken three years ago when they visited Japan for a photo spread, and at a party later in Bangkok.

Previously, Aom denied that she was seeing Sunny, as she now has a boyfriend - hi-so type, Sara ''Art'' Jutharattanakul.

When the pictures came out showing Aom and Sunny looking closer than mere friends, the press suggested that she had lied.

''Art laughed off the pictures - he was more interested in following Obama's inauguration,'' insisted Aom, who says she has taken such pictures with other young men before.

This week, claims emerged that Sunny had released the pictures deliberately, to upset Aom's relationship with Art. He insisted it wasn't so.

''I am not interested in people, or good at taking care of them enough to have anyone as a girlfriend,'' he said.

''That day I went out to buy a lamp and a towel. Previously, friends had warned me against losing the phone.

''I held on to my purchases all the way home. When I arrived home, I still had the lamp and the towel - but I had lost my cellphone,'' he said.

He couldn't recall what pictures he took (''I could be taking my clothes off, or doing somersaults''), but says many friends were in the bedroom taking pictures, not just him and Aom.

''Since then, we have met, but I can't remember the details. I am not a details person...I can't remember what colour underwear I am wearing today.

''We don't talk much...we are just friends. I do not like talking on the phone. I am not one of those people who calls friends to ask about their day.''

However, absent-minded Sunny does have a message for whoever found his phone. He has an unfinished game on the phone, and would like it back.

The number of a friend to whom he owes money is also on the phone. He can't remember that either, and would like to contact him. -

Jik
Veteran actress Naowarat ''Jik'' Yuktanun - portrayed in the press as a cougar, who likes to eat young men - has pulled in her claws, after her latest fling revealed he was seeing someone else.

A few months ago, Jik and her young admirer Thitnan ''X'' Soowansak, contestants in last year's Superstar reality show contest, went to functions arm-in-arm together, and talked openly about the prospect of becoming a couple.

X took his parents to see Jik on the Superstar show, after he was knocked out in the opening weeks. When she came off stage, she joked if she could regard herself as their daughter-in-law.

These days, Jik might be forgiven if she feels used. X has now told the media that he already has a girlfriend – and they have been together three years.

Back when the media was full of Jik-X sightings, Jik still knew nothing of the other woman in X's life, because he never told her.

Now, he still calls to ask her advice about his girlfriend, as if nothing happened.

''Oops - forget to tell you. Sorry about that!''

Jik says she has no hard feelings, and denies he was trying to leach off her greater fame. ''It's also untrue that I like eating younger men...if only I had the chance!'' she said.

However, she says she rarely bothers to answer X's calls any more, as she is busy. He might have to find another aunty figure to consult ...Jik, by the sounds of it, has had enough. -

He might have lost a few teeth, but he can still growl!

Actor Arak ''Pae'' Amornsupasiri is unhappy with celebrity fortune teller Mor Krit's forecast that he would end up in a traffic accident.

Unfortunately, that's what happened to the Slur lead guitarist and Feel Good Best in Time actor – and Pae is unhappy about it.

''Just let him make these nasty predictions to my face,'' Pae is said to have growled, after losing five molar teeth when he came off his motorbike at an intersection.

Pae went through the first light, which was orange, and sped up to get through the second, but then braked when he realise he would not make it.

Rather than hit the vehicle in front, he decided to plough his machine into a friend's bike instead. Pae flew through the air and landed in the next lane. He suffered abrasions the length of his body, and lost five teeth.

One newspaper persuaded him to open his mouth to show us big gaps on his left side where his molar teeth used to be. His wounds needed 50 stitches.

At New Year, he clipped the edge off his tongue to improve his diction. After the traffic accident, he could barely talk at all - but he could still growl.

At a Chinese New Year function, reporters told fortune teller Mor Krit Sukrit Patumsriwiroj) that an angry Pae had challenged him to make these gloomy forecasts to his face.

''My God, did he really say that?'' Mor Krit said, looking shocked. ''I would be too scared to meet him.

''I do not make forecasts to rub salt in the wound, or harm people. They are meant to serve as warnings, and I take no pleasure in learning that Pae was indeed involved in an accident,'' he said. ''Let me say sorry in advance.''  -

Lydia
R and B singer Saranrat ''Lydia'' Wisutthithada is in good spirits - after weeks in which Thais looked only at her stomach, after those nasty rumours that she was pregnant to a former politician, people have now started looking at her face again.

She has decided to forgive the celebrity fortune teller (mor du) whose errant forecasts led to the pregnancy rumour, as his teary apologies were too much to bear.

''I don't like to see a man cry...I feel sad on his behalf. Still, everything he did, he did to himself.''

Last month, Lydia's doughty mother confronted mor du Mor Krit Confirm while he was speaking at a hi-so function, to demand he apologise for claiming that Lydia was pregnant.

His erroneous forecast led to rumours that Lydia was expecting a child with former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, whom she knows.

Lydia's family vowed to sue Mor Krit for B50m, but after many humble apologies and teary, remorseful interviews by the fortune teller, they had second thoughts.

At a court-ordered meeting this week, Lydia's lawyer and Mor Krit settled their dispute, according to Mor Krit. They have yet to discuss damages, but he reckons the threat of court action is over.

Once again, this formerly brash seer was full of apologies, and thanked Lydia and her family for being lenient.
