Paradorn rejects talk the game is mixed doubles

Ball, Natalie
She's just a friend, says Paradorn ''Ball' Srichaphan, fending off yet another rumour that his marriage to Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova is on the rocks.

He was responding to claims by minor actress Apisara ''Ying'' Rakchat that she had a fling with tennis hero Paradorn while his wife wasn't looking - but pulled out of the chase when she reminded herself that the man was, after all, taken.

Channel 3 supporting actress Ying was spotted about town with Paradorn while Natalie was away.

Denying reports that they had drifted apart, Natalie sent back word that she was overseas taking part in a reality show competition, of all things.

''While Natalie was away, Ball and I went out on the town. I have not met Natalie myself, and did not act as a third hand in coming between them,'' says Ying.

She decided she had better turn her attention elsewhere, as the man was already taken.

''If you were to ask whether he liked me, I would say yes, as I am not ugly. He's a man who likes to take care of ladies, and has a sweet mouth.

''I have a weak spot for men who flatter. But he is married.

''We still talk, but I don't see him any more - he has too many women interested in him.''

Paradorn admits knowing Ying, but says they are mere acquaintances. She was the girlfriend of a biker friend.

They were linked together in media reports when he came off his bike in an accident in Saraburi early this year.

Since her supposed fling with Ball, Ying has been linked to actorWirapaap ''Vee'' Suparbpaiboon, now back with his regular love, actress Utsanee ''Nok'' Watthana, after a falling out.

Ying says he knows Vee through motorcycle racing circles, but again as a friend of someone else. ''I am always the also-ran,'' she laments.

Ying says if Vee, as a single man, was to start flirting with her, she'd immediately return the interest, as she is a fan. In fact, if any man at all were to start flirting, she would have to take notice.

Ying admits she is often accused of stealing other women's boyfriends. Yet she doesn't set out to cause mischief.

Vee's girlfriend Nok did not ask her to keep away. And she's heard the news that the pair have now reconciled, which she welcomes. So, where is a girl with a roving eye to turn her attention next?

Asked for her specs (the kind of man she likes), Ying says she is also a fan of actor Nattawut ''Por'' Sakidjai and Chakrit ''Krit'' Yamnam. However, she would rather they were single, as she does not want to be a mere number 2, 3 or 4 in anyone's affections.

These actors have been warned! Let's just hope they are available - or for wild biker girls like Ying, does that take the fun out of the chase?-

2.

For heartbroken actress Siriporn ''Airrin'' Yuktatat, art is imitating life. In a television series, just as in life, she is a wronged woman whose boyfriend has cheated on her - but she gets to take her revenge.

Airrin stars in the channel 5 drama, Kaew Lohm Pet, in which she plays a spoiled brat, Kaew Kao, whose boyfriend is distracted by another girl.

Airrin's character takes vengeance on her rival Nam Peht in a typicaltelevision drama fight scene. She slaps her face, and the pair roll around pulling at each other's hair.

"It was a real slap - I really did hit her face. I was so in with the role that I forgot to take precautions. I woke up the next day covered in bruises," she says.

Airrin says she drew on real-life experience for the role, after her former boyfriend M L Athadis ''Mu Tang'' Disakul started seeing another woman on the side.

Channel 3 actress Janie Tienposuwan, who has a reputation for stealing people's boyfriends, took Mu Tang's fancy. The three-way struggle played out in the Thai press for weeks.

Low points? Claims of assault as Mu Tang grabbed Airrin's arm in a heated moment.

And promises of fisticuffs, as Airrin's elder brother, a musician, told a television show that he was eager to sort out the young man, should they ever come face to face.

Airrin and Mu Tang have now split up, but are still forced to meet at work functions.

At a modelling show recently where both shared the catwalk, the former love birds exchanged pleasantries.

However, Airrin refused to pose for photographs with Mu Tang, who has tried to get back in her good books since his fling with Janie, without success.

''After all that upset, I can no longer feel the same way towards Mu Tang...and I am still nervous about falling in love again.''

Mu Tang, also a television actor, agrees that he and Airrin are now just friends.

He claims the relationship ended as a result of a misunderstanding rather than his hungry eye for women, and says they stopped posing for pictures together ages ago.

Airrin never did get to have a go at Janie. Judging by the energy she is putting into her portrayal of the black-hearted Kaew Kao, Mu Tang may have got off lightly!-

3.
Film
Superstar Rattapoom ''Film'' Tongkongsap has been spotted about town with a woman old enough to be his Mum, but denies he has a thing for older women.

Film says he has known Supee ''Ped'' Pongpanit, advertising and promotions director for Thai Commerce Bank, since he entered the industry.

When they are together, she advises him on marketing and business.Film's career is perennially in decline, according to the Thai entertainment media, which can find little positive to say about the RS Promotions singer and television actor.

However, he also sees Ped in her capacity as a client of RS Promotions.

''I am not her toy boy, though I am used to seeing such stories in the media. It comes with the territory,'' he says.

The pair were pictured at the city airport early one morning recently. The Manager newspaper helpfully reminded readers that Film is more often connected in the media with older men, not older women.

In July, a young man answering his description paid a visit to talisman maker Sitthikorn ''Sia Ood'' Boonchim, patron to Thai male stars who is awaiting trial on consumer fraud charges.

Back when they were close, Sia Ood showered gifts on Film, and lent his family money.

A young man wearing a hood who signed himself in as Film asked to see Ood at Bangkok Special Prison in July.

In a fit of pique, Ood refused to see him. Film in any case denies it was him. Responding to news of Film's friendship with Ped, Thais show no mercy. He can't be seen with men, and he can't seem to attract women his own age - so all he has left is the company of older women,'' one sniffs. Ouch!
