Over-the-wall girl capers

Nong “Point” Pongsuwan, a student, said she could understand her mother Mala’s frustration with Teng, whom she caught seeing another woman in the couple’s home last September. She said her mother was shattered by the incident, and could be forgiven if she criticises her father.
Teng’s fans have rounded on Mala for airing the couple’s dirty linen in public. The couple’s two daughters, who sided with their mother last week as the saga unfolded, also came under attack for meddling in adult affairs.

Since being caught with another woman, Workpoint funnyman Teng, also known as Pongsak Pongsuwan, is thought to have been banished from their home.
The family has said little about their troubles since Mala sensationally posted images of Teng holding a pair of woman’s shoes, as a young woman to whom he had taken a fancy, wearing a sky-blue dress, makes a hasty escape over a wall.
“I will have you guess what this picture depicts...it’s two wanderers who have secretly got together,” Mala wrote in her post last September.
“His wife found out, broke into the bedroom, so the woman has to climb over a wall to flee. The woman was quick, the man was wicked. I saw her legs as she fled and felt sorry for her...she almost fell to her death,” she said, talking about the moment she caught them in the act.
Last week Mala reignited the saga when she criticised Teng for skimping on the earnings he sends home to support them, presumably to pay for his new love. “He doesn’t send money, but never mind...I will do it myself. Get used to it, kids.”
Point’s younger sister, Ploy, was the first to wade in, remarking on social media that their mother was not rich or living beyond her means as many critics had claimed. “However, she makes us feel as comfortable as a woman can,” she said.
In comments later on television, Point, who has recently started university, said she was worried the scandal would overshadow her ability to make friends. The family was still in shock, and finding it hard to cope.
“I can understand the style of a man who plays around, but I can’t accept what my father did. I feel sad and regret what happened. It’s not true that my mother owes everything to Dad. He himself says we owe everything we have today to our mother. They have been together for 20 years,” she said.
“I don’t know if we can get back together again as a family, though we still talk and meet for meals. Dad has not apologised and when asked for an explanation said he felt uncomfortable. I was disappointed to hear it, because Dad has always taught us that family comes first.
“However, I am not angry any more and am trying to make a time when I can meet Dad and bring along Mum too.”
Point parted with a message for netizens who carp at her mother for being ungrateful to family bread-winner Teng.
“I would ask you to think about how your comments are affecting the people involved. So, is it okay for a man who is good at making money for his family to see another woman?” she said.
Earlier, Teng’s younger sister, actress Punyawan, or Somcheng Samcha, insisted her brother was sending every baht of his pay back to his family. While she thought he might have the occasional love interest on the side, this did not extend to his looking after a second wife.
“He is in an industry where he meets pretty women all the time. Apart from that, all men play around. If you find one who doesn’t, it’s like a snake with no venom,” she said.
“He has no smartphone, and doesn’t go to events other than Workpoint events. He is content with what he has...gardening at home.”
By the end of the week, Ploy had also sent a message supporting her father, and posted images of them sharing a meal and a kiss. Fans said they took it as a sign that the family rift could heal.
Men I can do without
Actress Preechaya “Ice” Pongthananikorn has cut two admirers out of her life, after she emerged at the centre of social media rows which they helped trigger.
Ice went before the media last week to clear the air after actress and model Ornalin “Cookie” Chaiporn popped up on her Instagram, asking her to stop chatting to her boyfriend.

Separately, model Chalach “Gun” Punyarit chose this moment to ask for the return of a bomber jacket she had borrowed but failed to return.
The incidents were unrelated but Ice felt obliged to clear her name in both dramas. In the first case, she said Cookie’s boyfriend, hi-so businessman Chidpon Mangprom, had contacted her with a proposal that she take a shareholding in a business venture.
He asked to meet but when she turned up she found he was really more interested in flirting. The two did not talk long and she did not know he was already seeing Cookie, who in her IG post also published a chat between Ice and Chidpon in which Ice suggested they go shopping.
“We made a time to meet, but I took a friend. I am single, so it is normal that I am approached by people who want to flirt,” Ice told the press.
Cookie asked Ice on her IG to contact her. She had apparently tried to reach her earlier, but Ice said she didn’t see the message, as she rarely goes through her inbox herself.
Ice said she now understood that Chidpon had withheld his interest in Ice from his girlfriend, and that he had tricked her. He had since apologised and the pair were no longer in touch.
In the other drama enveloping Ice, model Gun, a friend of hers, asked her to return a Vintage Chanel Bomber jacket he had lent her.
He said his secretary had made contact but she refused to return it, urging him to come and get it himself. However, Gun said he can’t remember where she lives.
“No money can buy a replacement as it means too much to me. She must know it is not hers to keep. Think how you would feel if it was yours,” he wrote.
In response, Ice asked why Gun did not make contact directly rather than airing the matter in public. She said Gun had asked her to wear the jacket to help promote it; it was not a case of her asking to borrow it. However, she was happy to return it. She had not done so earlier as she did not know his secretary and was unable to reach him.
In response, Gun said Ice had mixed up the jacket with a line of clothing he was once selling. He insisted she had visited his condo and picked out the jacket which she wanted to borrow.
Asked about the twin sagas, Ice agreed she had now cut Gun and Chidporn out of her life.
James’ party animal blues
Actor Jirayu “James” Tangsrisuk is playing down fanclub criticism of his latest girlfriend, urging netizens not to rush to judgment of her wild ways.

After honey-faced James last week revealed he was seeing a young woman outside the industry, known as Foam, fans quickly dug up a clip of her dancing wildly at a wedding party, and speaking brusquely on social media.
His disappointed fans said James should choose a woman with a view to marriage and having children, not some party animal who devours men. In response, James, who thanked anxious fans for their support, nonetheless pleaded with them to give her a break.
“She was dancing at the wedding party of a friend ... someone edited the clip, it doesn’t show the formalities of the ceremony,” he said. “It’s not the sum total of her life...she has normal moments too, just like anyone else. In everyday life, there’s none of that.”
James said he was happy to confirm they were seeing each other as a way of conferring respect.
“We’re not introducing ourselves formally as a couple, as the other side doesn’t want to make a big fuss. But I want to focus on my work, and this will give me the peace of mind that I need. It’s better to come out now than have the news catching up with us later,” he said.
He had spoken to Foam about the negative coverage, and she understood, though she was not happy about the dancing clip.
