Sek 'must face the music', Namwan's web stalker, Wut's 'short worms'

Ex-wife turns on rocker
Kan
Rocker Sek Loso’s former wife has gone back on the attack after Sek spurned her offer to look after him as he battles legal problems which could put him behind bars.

Wiphakorn "Karn" Sookpimay has also called up a debt of 13-14 million baht which she says Sek owes her, telling Sek to face up to his mistakes rather than blaming others for his plight.

“Remember this, you are a disgrace. This trouble is all your own doing. You are stupid, gullible, and hang around with bad types. Also remember that you are bust, and that house is not yours but loaned by a friend,” she said in a stiffly worded post.

In later social media posts she said she could not help Sek with his legal troubles, even if she had 100 million baht to spend, and repeated claims that Sek’s family was only after his money.

Her outburst comes after Sek last week called in the media to explain his latest brush with the law over firearms and drug charges. He also threatened to sue police for unreasonable arrest.

Sek was nabbed at his home on Dec 31 in Kannayao district, Bangkok, following an incident in Nakhon Si Thammarat the previous Friday in which he shot a handgun into the air.

As well as facing firearms charges, he is also charged with resisting arrest and will now face an additional drug charge after methamphetamine was found in his system.

Speaking to reporters, Sek denied he had gone back to using hard drugs, but admitted threatening to shoot police on the day of his arrest, claiming emotions carried him away.

After being charged in Bangkok, police sent him back to Nakhon Si Thammarat for further action. The saga has also sparked an internal police inquiry after Sek was pictured on social media fraternising with senior officers in both centres, prompting complaints police were showing him favourable treatment.

Responding to Karn’s offer to return home and care for him, Sek told her via the reporters not to bother.
Sek talks to the media post-arrest
“You don’t have to look after me. I won’t do anyone harm. I look after my wives and kids well. My kids understand all this, and am raising them to be strong,” he said.

Karn admitted the sight of Sek handcuffed in a police cell was hard to bear, as she worried it could affect their children. However, she realised she could do nothing if Sek would not help himself.

Later in the week she also rebuffed a peace offering by Sek’s little-known younger sister, singer Thaschy “Honge” Nickywell, after the two fell out in the wake of Sek’s arrest.

Honge came forward to pay Sek’s bail surety of 150,000 baht after Karn complained publicly that the rocker’s family was nowhere to be seen when he was in trouble.

Honge, who said she hadn’t spoken to her elder brother in six years, said she borrowed money for the surety after Karn threw down her challenge. “She is an outsider; there’s no way she can get back into his good books,” she said.

After the two exchanged barbs on social media, Honge offered to apologise. Karn, however, suggested Honge was after publicity and keener on seeing her and Sek fight.

“Don’t do things to be famous or look good. The one who suffers the most will ultimately be the suspect and his family,” she retorted.

Karn said she exposed Sek’s problems with hard drug abuse six years ago because his own family did nothing, and tried to take his money.

Meanwhile, police have hit back at Sek’s claims that they went too far in forcing entry to his home to make the arrest.

Metropolitan police chief Pol Lt Gen Chanthep Sesawet said officers had done everything by the book. “We came with a search and arrest warrant," he said. "Sek, who had locked himself in his bedroom, asked us to wait for his lawyer, but in fact his lawyer had already arrived and spoken to us.

“Sek was not willing to come out, so police had to force their way in. But if thinks we went overboard, he’s welcome to sue.”

Sek also claimed the drug charge would not stick as he was now clean. Pol Lt Gen Chanthep said the evidence suggests otherwise.

“As for his claims the chemicals we found in his system come from bipolar medication or sleeping pills, I can confirm the lab test on his urine meets international standards and it shows he was taking illicit drugs," Pol Lt Gen Chanthep said.

“It’s his right to say whatever he likes, but we would ask the court and society to judge.”

Sek was called in to hear the drug charge again on Jan 19, after failing to meet police on his first summons on Friday. The case continues.

Abusive message menace
Namwan Zaza
Singer and actress Pimra Charoenpakdee, or “Namwan Zaza”, is complaining to police after an internet pest started harassing her again over New Year, despite the threat of legal action.

Namwan met Technology Crime Suppression Division police last week about the man, said to be autistic, who she says has been abusing her online for five years.

The man, known on social media as Eaknon Sir, and spiritmhilesvhey, has changed his Facebook and Instagram identity more than 100 times so he can carry on abusing her even after she blocks him, Namwan said.

The singer said she fears for her safety as the man knows where she lives and has threatened her. She had spoken previously to the man’s mother and police, to no avail.

“He sends about 30 messages a day on average, though during heavy periods can send 200 a day,” she said.

“He has also sent messages to my phone. About six months ago, I called back and a woman answered. I figured it was his mother. At first she didn’t own up that her son was abusing me, but under pressure changed her mind.

“She claimed her son was autistic and disabled and pleaded with me not to take the matter further.

“We arranged to meet at Thong Lor Police Station so she could sign a pledge saying her son would stop abusing me. However, mother and son failed to show.

“When I called back, the mother offered to let me see his identity card if I would agree to drop the complaint. On that occasion, my own mother asked me not to pursue the matter as she felt sorry for the woman.

“Over New Year the messages started again, though this time he abused my family, friends and seniors in the industry. My aunt, singer Mai Charoenpura, said it had gone on long enough as his abuse could end up costing me work."

Namwan, who said she doesn’t know why the man is picking on her, said the CSD police had suggested she file her defamation complaint with her local station first.

Pubic hair lament
Wut, Saipan

The pubes post
Actress Apinya “Saipan” Sakuljaroensuk has met police after she accidentally published pictures of her new boyfriend’s pubic hair in a social media post.

Saipan, accompanied by her boyfriend, actor Nantawut “Wut” Boonrapsap, admitted introducing lewd content to the computer system when she met Technology Crime Suppression police on Friday.

She was posting a “short story” to a group of five friends on her Instagram account but failed to check the image first, she said. Her IG was set to private, which means one of her friends on the list must have released it.

The image shows someone holding up a mobile phone with a naked torso in the background. The owner of the pubic hair patch was quickly identified as her new boyfriend, Wut.

Saipan said she promptly deleted the image but it was too late. After spending two hours with police yesterday, she emerged before a large media contingent to say she does not yet know the exact charge and her file has to be sent back to court.

Boyfriend Wut, meanwhile, was unfazed by the drama despite seeing his “short worms”, as the media put it, circulated widely on the internet. “I am a man, so have suffered no great harm. I am more worried about the effect on our families and on Saipan,” he said.
