New mum Zol makes peace with family
Zol and family |
A former Channel 7 actress who absconded from the family home with her boyfriend nine months ago and has since secretly given birth has now been reunited with her family.
Panthothong “Gunjaezol” Boonthong met her family at Bhumipol Hospital by chance on Friday after her mother, Mukda Boonthong, received a premonition she had given birth and would find her there. It was the first time they had met in nine months.
Ms Mukda turned up unexpectedly in the hope of meeting the young woman, who had yet to contact her family since leaving home in a huff with her boyfriend, airline captain Chanat “Nat” Lertpattanathai.
Nurses confirmed Gunjaezol, or Zol for short, gave birth to a baby boy on Wednesday, two weeks before she was due, and let Ms Mukda into her room.
She turned up with her husband, veteran actor Nukkid “Neung” Boonthong, and Zol’s two younger sisters. The family had a rough idea of when Zol was expecting but no idea where she would have the baby.
A nurse let them into her room while Zol was out feeding the child, named Nong Take Off, without telling her that her family had arrived.
Ms Mukda said she was afraid her daughter would try to flee if she knew her family had turned up.
“When she opened the door and saw us there, she raced into my arms and apologised,” Ms Mukda said.
“Zol said she had wanted to make contact before now but didn’t know how. She realised we wanted only the best for her and she had been through a lot because she failed to listen to our advice.”
The family received their first news of Zol when she published an image of her taking a meal with her boyfriend Nat last month. She appeared heavily pregnant. They had sent text messages and contacted Nat’s family, to no avail.
Earlier, actor Neung said daughter Zol and his would-be son-in-law walked out of their lives when they were discussing the young couple’s plans to get married. He had asked Nat if he was not moving too fast as they had met only months before.
Ms Mukda said she was shocked when her daughter revealed she had secretly married Nat. She said the young father turned up at the hospital later without knowing the family would be there.
“He looked surprised, but we spoke normally and there were no heated words. He did not apologise, and I found it hard to look him in the eye after what he has done,” she said.
Ms Mukda said she hadn’t been in touch with Nat’s family since reuniting with her daughter as they had refused to reveal where the couple had gone. She did not say what plans lie ahead for Zol, who has yet to talk to the media.
Chakrit ready to tie knot again
Ann, Chakrit |
Actor Chakrit Yamnarm is preparing to marry again, his manager says, though the leading man and notorious Romeo says he wants to keep it a “family matter” for now.
Reports last week said Chakrit, who divorced actress Wirithipa “Woonsen” Pakdeeprasong last year, has since taken up with freelance marketer Pattira “Ann” Roongroj, whom he met on the set of TV series Diamond Eyes for the Mono 29 channel a year or so ago.
Some reports said she was an assistant to the director, Danuporn “Brook” Punnakan, and now pregnant to Chakrit.
Images emerged of Chakrit taking Ann to meet his parents amid reports the pair plan to marry in her home province of Chanthaburi on Wednesday. They said Chakrit was preparing to go before the media with the happy news the day before.
Chakrit, who was in Laos last week to promote snacks in a private business venture, said he wanted to keep the matter with his family for now. His ex-wife Woonsen, with whom he is still on good terms, wrote cryptically: “Enjoy the silence.”
Meanwhile, rocker Sek Loso and his new love, former beauty contestant Apisaya “Eve” Pattanaworasap, are now engaged.
The pair performed the simple ceremony in a church in Venice during a quick trip to Europe earlier this month, with Eve wearing an engagement ring he bought her.
Eve, Sek |
He took Eve as well and, while the two were on a quick swing through Italy, popped into a church.
Sek, now back in Thailand, revealed news of the engagement as he made merit with Eve at a temple in Nakhon Pathom.
“I told her that love comes from the heart, so there’s no need for a big wedding. But all women want that,’’ he said.
“I told her that love comes from the heart, so there’s no need for a big wedding. But all women want that,’’ he said.
“Farang say life begins at 40 but Thais reckon 40 is old. I reckon we can always make a new start. I still feel like a young man.”
His European trip came shortly after Sek admitted he was now a father again, though to a different woman. Early last month Sek published a picture of himself, his three-month old son, Leon, and the child’s mother, actress Paphada “Sandwich” Chotikawanitch, whom he started seeing last year but has since dropped in favour of Eve.
The revelation he was a father again but had left Sandwich to raise the child alone set off a wave of criticism on social media.
Eve said she was prepared to accept Leon into their lives but had made Sek swear not to take up with any more women if he was still seeing her. On Friday Sek published images on social media of him visiting Sandwich and the child at their home in Bang Phli. Sandwich wore a face mask and held her hand up to her face as if to obscure her identity.
Speaking as he made merit with Eve, Sek said he regarded Sandwich as one of his wives and the father of his child. Eve was also one of his wives, though they had yet to get married.
Writing on social media earlier, Sandwich published pictures of her and Leon with the lonely-sounding message in response: “Just the two of us together, Leon.”
Boxing camp heavies pay for attack
Au |
Grammy singer Haruthai “Au” Muangbunsri and her husband have settled their row with a city muay Thai gym after a group of heavies from the camp beat him up in a dispute over boxing shorts.
Au and her husband, Somchok Suthisohm, laid a complaint with police after six men from the Yokkao boxing camp thumped him while he was manning the couple’s boxing supplies store, the Lumpini Shop, in the Bon Kai area on Sept 6.
He said the men turned up and accused him of making illegal copies of their branded boxing shorts, which his store once made for the camp under a business partnership. He said they attacked him when they found two pairs of shorts bearing the camp’s logo in his store.
He said they were not knockoff copies but in fact shorts left over from an order they placed years ago but which they never paid for. He put them up for sale to recoup the expense.
Writing on social media last week, Au said she and her husband had settled the row, with the other party paying 180,000 baht in compensation. The couple had put the money on a down payment for a new Ford Everest.
She had also bought a bunch of flowers, which she offered to a spirit that protects travellers, just in case they should meet ill fortune again.
