Janie's broken heart, Nicky and Noom see the light, cop not a robber

Actress calls off ties with Kueng
Woonsen, Janie
Actress Janie Tienphosuwan has called off her relationship with hi-so businessman Chalermchai “Kueng” Mahagitsiri after she caught him seeing someone else.

The news has sparked a rift with two of her closest friends amid claims they knew Kueng was two-timing but did nothing, propelling the saga to the top of the Thai Twitter rankings.

Janie’s tearful confirmation last week that she and Kueng had parted was followed a day later by news that Janie had fallen out with actresses Wirithipa “Woonsen” Pakdeeprasong and Cris Horwang because they are close to Kueng’s new fling, hi-so businesswoman Saowanee “Jib” Pathaiwanich.

Janie said she had “unfollowed” both friends on Instagram as she needed time to mend her heart.

Netizens quickly rounded on Woonsen in particular, accusing her of acting as a matchmaker between Kueng and Jib, and stabbing lifelong friend Janie in the back.

Earlier, Janie said she decided to clear the air following persistent rumours she and Kueng had broken up.

“His conduct brought an end to the relationship more than anything else,’’ she said bluntly.
“I didn’t say anything earlier out of respect for him, as he is not a member of the industry. But now I want to make things clear. We haven’t spoken for ages.”

While declining to spell out whether he had been seeing someone else, Janie dropped dark hints that Kueng could have treated her better. “After this, I would like to meet someone who is genuine towards me, and behaves like a gentleman. I am sad and feel sorry about what happened,” she said.

Asked about her decision to unfriend Woonsen, she said: “I am not a person who has many friends, but I give 100 per cent to those I have. I still regard Woonsen as a mate, but I have to wonder if she feels the same way,” Janie said.

Reports said the rift started when Janie confronted Woonsen with the news Kueng was seeing Jib, a friend of Woonsen’s.

The actress is said to have replied coolly: “Oh, so you’ve only just found out, have you?” Janie said she was stunned by Woonsen’s response and decided to take a step back from their friendship.

Reacting to the saga, Woonsen denied she had acted as a matchmaker between Kueng and Jib, or that she had stabbed Janie in the back.

“I know hi-so Jib, but I am not close to Kueng. We have met only four or five times. I didn’t introduce them, and found out they were together only shortly before Janie herself. I feel awkward, as I am mates with both,” she said.

“I spoke to some friends, and they suggested I tell Janie, but I didn’t get the chance before she found out herself.”

While denying she had responded in the offhand manner alleged, Woonsen admitted she should have spoken out sooner.

“If I had thought about it a little more, I could have prevented this. But I didn’t mean any harm, and didn’t betray her,” she said, tears welling in her eyes. Janie has been denying claims for months that she and Kueng were growing apart.

In April, flying in the face of the rift rumours, Kueng’s millionaire father, business magnate Prayudh Mahagitsiri, declared he was building a lavish marital home on a 6 rai site in the Sathon Road area for his son. A fortune teller had predicted his son would marry by next year, he said.

Janie has been unlucky in love, despite her star pedigree. Her troubled marriage to millionaire Chonsawat ‘‘Ae’’ Asavahame collapsed in August 2014 after the pair were together just 12 months. The pair divorced amid claims he had beaten her, and a year almost to the day before the Supreme Court was to jail him for 18 months for election fraud.

Kueng has yet to comment on the drama. Jib, meanwhile, was spotted hitting “like” on a comment on her Instagram, criticising Janie for being a shameless publicity seeker.

Blackout over for troubled pair
Noom, Nicky
Actress Nicole “Nicky” Theriault  and her actor sweetheart, Sornram “Noom” Theappitak, have put their problems behind them a week after Nicole published an ominous blacked-out image on Instagram.

After several days of silence on social media, leaving her fans puzzled as to whether the popular couple had argued, Nicky dropped in on Noom last Monday night.

She turned up to help him celebrate his mother’s birthday. Reports said Noom’s mum had no time to put on make-up and wore a simple wrap-around to greet her.

They published pictures of the happy event on social media, including an image of two hands clasped tightly together. “Thank you for the messages of support. We will conquer obstacles to reach our goal,’’ she wrote.

A day later it was Noom’s turn, as Nicole threw a party to celebrate his birthday, which falls a day after his mother’s. The two were pictured wearing matching outfits and surrounded by balloons bearing his name.  “Happy birthday to you, ka! Wishing you happiness every single day. May you conquer the world!” she wrote.

Neither has commented on the mysterious blackout on her IG.

Socialite escapes jail sentence

A wealthy socialite who accused a high-profile policewoman of stealing her boyfriend has escaped jail in the final appeal ruling stemming from their defamation row.

The Appeal Court last week sentenced socialite Wichuda ‘‘Tum’’ Leenuthapong to two years in jail, suspended, and fined her 200,000 baht in her dispute with Pol Lt Col Anchalee ‘‘Mor Air’’ Teerawongpaisal, whom she accused of breaking up a relationship with her policeman lover.

Earlier, the court sentenced Tum to seven years’ jail, suspended for two, and fined her 700,000 baht on other charges relating to the case.

Mor Air laid police complaints against Tum early in 2015 after the socialite accused her of having a secret fling with her boyfriend, Pol Lt Col Attapol ‘‘Aun’’ Ittayorpasakul, a one-time social media icon feted for his good looks.

Mor Air laid two complaints against the socialite, and prosecutors filed a third, after Tum attacked Mor Air on social media.

Speaking about the latest ruling, Tum’s lawyer, Prapanpong Thammachart, said the appeal court agreed with Mor Air that Tum had offended four separate times and overturned the primary court’s decision to sentence her on one count.

It increased the jail time but lightened it by suspending the sentence. “It is up to her whether to appeal,” he said.
