Untying the knot, film under pressure, DJ's stalker nightmare, Lamyai denies fling

Fresh start for Peter, Ploy

Ploy

Peter
Presenter and actor Peter Corp Dyrendal and his estranged wife of four years have signed their divorce papers, with both partners looking forward to a new start.

Air hostess and mother to his two children, Ployphan "Ploy" Taveerat, said last Wednesday she was excited about the prospect of divorce, without disclosing to reporters when the pair would finalise the arrangement.

A day later, news emerged the couple had met quietly at the Wattana district office to sign the paperwork ending their tempestuous union, after earlier reaching a divorce agreement.

While neither party is saying much about the agreement, Ploy said it obliges both parties to stop talking about each other, as both want space to carry on with their lives.

"I will have to stop talking about him for the rest of my life, or I will end up in court," she said.

The agreement also covers access to their children, with Ploy saying the kids will stay with her.

"I can't say if he will have any ongoing responsibility for their welfare. That's another sensitive issue. You will have to ask him," she said.

Speaking on Friday, Peter said the agreement's secrecy provisions also covered details of how much he would support his children, and the fate of the couple's five-storey house.

"We have been through a lot, but finally we were able to reach an agreement. I have given Ploy everything that was in my power to give," he said, while adding he was looking forward to focusing on his work.

Ploy said the end of their marriage, beset with difficulties since Peter walked out on her two years ago when the younger of their two sons was barely three months old, was a relief.

"It's like a rope, tied around me in a knot, has suddenly been loosened. It feels great. I won't have to sit around thinking negative stuff any more; it's over, and it's time both parties moved on," she said.

The couple’s marital row went public in July 2015 when Ploy published a picture of her and their infant children on social media, asking when Peter was intending to visit them again.

After enduring months of criticism for walking out on his wife and family, Peter resurfaced in May the following year to ask for a divorce, saying he left home because the couple argued constantly. In later months he also returned home to see the children.

Their row reached a low point shortly after Peter left, when Ploy attempted to surprise her errant husband at his Bangkok office. She ended up ramming his motorbike with her car as Peter and his manager tried to flee.

Mum tells celebrity to marry, have kids
Film
Actor and singer Rattapoom "Film" Tokongsub is coming under pressure from his mother to tie the knot and have children.

Film said his mum asks every day about when he will find a girlfriend and have a child of his own.

The actor has some experience at child-rearing after he and his mother took on the duty of raising a Thai-French boy, Tenai, on behalf of a family friend who has since returned to France.

“Mum says I should have a farang or Chinese girlfriend, as our children would look really sweet. I say, Hey mum, let me find one first, can't you?" he said.

Film, 32, admits many men his age are settling down, but he is still single and childless.

“I love children and enjoy caring for Tenai. I take him to school every day, and when he was younger took him to the set of my TV lakorn so mum could get some rest."

Film said his mum and the boy's mother are in talks about taking on Tenai as their foster son.

"Mum does the paperwork. It would be done in her name, not mine, but when she asked if she should go ahead I said for sure, as I would love a son," he said.

Ton Horm urges cops to get into gear
Ton Horm
DJ Sakuntala "Ton Horm" Teinpairoj is unhappy police are taking so long to wrap up their probe against a man who tried to break into her home.

Ton Horm and her boyfriend, actor and model Prachakorn "Sun" Piyasakulkaew, last month complained to Huay Kwang police after the man, Thanadol Amaradit, 29, turned up outside her condo after slipping past security.

She said the suspect had tried to gain entry to her place before, and likes to lie in wait for her as she heads to work at the Grammy building in the Asok area.  Ton Horm said Mr Thanadol had also threatened her boyfriend Sun.

Police have laid charges of breaking into someone's property, and causing others distress. Ton Horm said Mr Thanadol had denied all charges.

"I am annoyed it all seems to take so long. I don't want money or anything like that, I just want the law to offer protection so he doesn't come near me again. Even though his relatives say he is not dangerous, I still feel apprehensive," she said last week.

"I am also worried about my own emotions. If he tries it on again, I am likely to blow a fuse."

Pol Col  Ahkom Juntharach, of Huay Kwang police, said the suspect also turned up at sexy singer Nongphanee "Ja R Siam" Mahadthai's home on May 28.

Ton Horm spoke to the suspect’s mother when he was arrested last month. "He wasn't disturbed enough to be regarded as insane, just a bit odd," she said.

Police, who told her there wasn't much they could do about him pestering her, said the suspect had turned down treatment at Police Hospital and Srithanya Hospital in Nonthaburi.

'Just good friends,' says teen singer
Lamyai
Superstar teen singer Lamyai Haithongkham denies she is having a secret fling with her manager, saying the two keep their relationship on a professional footing.
Lamyai, 19, sprang to public prominence last month after the prime minister asked her to tone down her sexy stage act.

The singer, who now dons more sensible attire and limits her low squats and thrusting gestures, still draws large crowds to her concerts, and is now saving for a 4 million baht home.

Lamyai's hit song, Pu Sao Kha Loh, has notched up 266 million views on YouTube since it was released last November.  She appeared on television last week with her manager, Prachakchai Naowaras, a man she calls "ajarn" (teacher).

Asked whether they were more than just teacher and student, Lamyai says she does not go anywhere unaccompanied with Prachakchai, who discovered her at a function several years ago and has moulded her career since.

"I don't like to get too close, as ajarn likes to criticise. When we go out we tend to go with friends, or ajarn's partner, as I am close to her," she said.

Prachakchai, who says he has helped mould the careers of 20 youngsters in the industry, admits he thinks about his “pupil” Lamyai in romantic terms occasionally, but tries to suppress it.

"I try to keep distance between us. I am married and do not interfere in the lives of any of my pupils," he said.
