Stalker of DJ Ton Horm pounces, Patt hits back at critics, Poo watch debacle

Not insane, just odd
Ton Horm
DJ Sakuntala "Ton Horm" Teinpairoj is taking legal action against a man who tried to break into her home amid police claims he has preyed on celebrities before.

Ton Horm and her boyfriend, actor and model Prachakorn “Sun’’ Piyasakulkaew, last week complained to Huay Kwang police after the man, Thanadol Amaradit, 29, turned up outside her condo after slipping past security.

“He made it to the 15th floor of my condo where we were filming a show. He found a security guard downstairs who was new to the job, and let him enter, not knowing who he was. The suspect claimed he was a fan and wanted to hand over a Bodyslam T-shirt,’’ she said.

“I asked my assistant upstairs to stop him getting in the door, and contacted building management, who called the police. This man has tried to gain entry to my place before.

“He also likes lying in wait for me on Wednesdays when I go to work at Grammy in the Asok area. He knows he can’t get past security there, so tries to waylay me first,’’ she said.

Ton Horm said Thanadol had also threatened her boyfriend Sun. “He asked if he could be my boyfriend instead, as he claimed we weren’t right for each other. He also threatened to kill Sun.

“Previously I was scared, but now I am just annoyed, and want the police to take the complaint as far as they can,’’ she said.

Police have laid charges of breaking into someone’s property, and causing others distress. The DJ said his relatives were called, and she had spoken to his mother.

“He wasn’t disturbed enough to be regarded as insane, just a bit odd,’’ she said. Police, who told her there wasn’t much they could do about him pestering her, said he had turned down treatment at Police Hospital and Srithanya Hospital in Nonthaburi.

“In the past I have tried to find out who he was. This time I have laid a complaint because it is getting more serious.’’

Pol Col  Ahkom Juntharach, of Huay Kwang police, said the suspect also turned up at sexy singer Nongphanee “Ja R Siam’’ Mahadthai’s home on May 28.

Ja laid a complaint with Bang Bua Thong police about the man after he turned up shortly before midnight asking if he could pose for a picture with her.  Ja lives in the same area as Ton Horm, and both know the man as a nuisance who claims to be a fan.

The suspect has turned up at Ja’s place several times, just as he has at Ton Horm’s home nearby.

The DJ said her friend Ja likes to protect herself by having her dancers stay over. But she said Thanadol is cunning. “He tends to wait until Ja is alone rather than turning up when her dance troupe is there.’’

Police took the suspect court to authorise the charges. There was no word of whether he sought bail.

Skois will be skois
Patt
Beleaguered actress Napapa ‘‘Patt’’ Tantrakul has hit back at critics who say she was wrong to wade into the debate over the karaoke murder case, urging them to get their heads read.

Patt’s family is reeling after she was charged with money laundering, and her speed racer husband, whom police suspect is tied to a Laos drugs ring, was indicted for laundering, and aiding and abetting the offence.

In a television interview last week, Patt referred to the blaze of negative publicity accompanying her case. The Criminal Court has repeatedly refused to grant bail to her husband, Akarakit ‘‘Benz’’ Worarojcharoendet, leaving her to bring up their infant child virtually alone.

During the interview, Patt referred in a humorous moment to another case which has captured the public’s attention, in which Preeyanuch “Preaw” Nongwangchai and two co-accused have been charged over the murder of karaoke bar worker Warisara Klinjui.

Patt said she would like to thank Preaw and her gang for helping drown out publicity of her own legal troubles with news of their recent capture in Myanmar.

“A friend told me I should wai before Preaw because her news has allowed me to get some rest, and others must feel the same ... so thanks very much, ka,’’ she said.

That seemingly innocent remark brought a quick riposte on social media, with one critic saying Patt was rubbing salt into the wounds of the victim’s family, and was appearing to side with the accused killer.

“Doesn’t Patt have a manager or friends who advise her on what to say?’’ asked her critic on a well-known webboard.

Police and the media have been criticised for their handling of the case, lauding suspect Preaw as a celebrity killer. “Team Preaw (Preaw and her gang) have already shown us the depths to which Thai society has sunk; as an actress you should act as a role model, not talk like you’re plunging down a ravine to hell,’’ her critic said, referring to Patt.

The post also referred disparagingly to Patt, a motorcycle fan, as a “skoi’’ (girls who accompany teen racers).  “A skoi is a skoi; you can’t upgrade yourself. You should just sit tight and say nothing, or at least think before you speak,’’ the netizen sniffed.

Responding to the post, Patt said she suspected the author has trouble getting on with the world, lacks optimism, and hates her.

“I didn’t bring Preaw up as a topic; it was the TV host. I wasn’t praising her or commenting on the case, but referring to my own. As for the skoi jibe, I admit I am a skoi, but even we have hearts. If you want to criticise me, do it openly, don’t lump them in as well.

“The person who abused me should go and see a doctor and ask if she is okay,’’ she said.

Time is money
Poo
Actress and model Praiya “Poo’’ Soandokmai has no time for the Omega watch brand after a falling-out over a contract dispute which could now end up before the courts.

Swatch Group Trading (Thailand), which distributes the high-end brand in Thailand, last week announced in an open letter to the media it had ended its relationship with Poo, whom it hired as a “Friend of Omega’’ to help promote the brand. It accused her of breach of contract.

Poo, who says she is saddened by the affair, denies she flouted the terms of their deal, and is asking the company to set the record straight.

She says she is willing to comply with its demands that she return the Omega watch given her to promote, and the fees she was paid, but wants the company to help clear her name.

Poo said the Swatch Group put a proposal to her in February that she act as a brand “influencer’’, wearing the watch and helping promote Omega on social media. “It didn’t bind me in the same way as a presenter or brand ambassador, so I accepted,’’ she said.

In April the brand flew her to London to take part in Omega’s 60th anniversary celebrations, where she wore the Omega watch, and posted pictures on Instagram. She said Omega was happy with the publicity and in May asked if it could change the contract to make her a full-blown presenter.

This contract would forbid her from wearing watches from rival brands in public. Poo said she couldn’t agree, as she had signed up to promote other clients. In May, Poo was named as Thailand’s first “Guess Girl’’, in which she agrees to promote fashion including accessories such as watches for the American label of the same name.

The actress said she and Omega fell out after Poo posted an ad on IG promoting the fashion label, including a watch which she wore as an accessory. Omega was unhappy, and tore up their agreement.

“But I insist I could do it, as I never agreed to act as a promoter for them,’’ she said. After asking the company to help clear her name and getting nowhere, Poo says she is now taking legal advice.
