Benz's baby talk, Dew's 'fake chat', love triangle

Drug suspect reassures expectant mum

Benz, Pat
Speed racer and expectant father Akarakit "Benz" Worarojcharoendet has some encouraging words for his actress wife as they await the outcome of a police probe into his alleged links to a Lao drugs network.

Two hours after his marathon questioning session with Narcotics Suppression police on Friday, Benz broke a two-day hiatus on Facebook to post a picture of his wife, actress Napapa "Patt" Tantrakul, beaming as she pushed along a cradle, still in its wrapping, for their unborn child.

Patt expects to give birth to their first child in a little more than a week. "A new toy … a mother dog and her puppy. I miss you so much it hurts," he wrote playfully.

Patt replied:  "We miss you too. The baby asks me to pass on word: see you in nine days."

Media reports said the warm exchange scotched speculation Patt had decided to call it quits with her husband over the drugs drama.

The saga started on Thursday when police raided Benz's car workshop in Din Daeng looking for a Lamborghini thought to be linked to the Lao drug kingpin, Xaysana Keopimpha.

Police failed to find Benz, who had left home without talking to Patt the night before. Amid initial reports claiming he had fled, Benz contacted police and asked for time to prepare evidence to clear his name.  They agreed to meet on Friday.

Appearing outside the Narcotics Suppression Division later that night, Benz urged the public to let police do their job.

"I was shocked when the news broke. Various claims were swirling about. Some people assume I am no good because of what they read on social media. Don't listen to too much of that. I understand it's fun to spread tales, but you must also listen to the truth of what happened," he said.

Police raided Benz's workshop after arrested suspect Natthaphol "Boy" Nakkham, thought to be linked to the drugs network, named Benz as among celebrities allegedly hiding and laundering assets for the drugs ring.

Benz denies being involved in drugs and says he bought the Lamborghini as part of his auto trade business. He borrowed 6 million baht from Mr Nattaphol to help pay for it, and says the two share an interest in motor racing.

Meanwhile, Patt's elder brother, who helped arrange for Benz to meet police, says he will keep an eye on him for the sake of his sister.

Anucha Tantrakul spoke to Benz several times by phone on Thursday as police were hunting for him.

Mr Anucha, who looks set to emerge as a dominant figure in Patt's fledgling family, said he went to see his younger sister after hearing about the raid but was unable to contact her.

"I have met Benz only twice, and before this drama we had spoken only once. I told him: 'I view you in a positive way, but if one day you turn out to be a bad person, and I can't get through to you, I won't accept it'," Mr Anucha said.

"She decided to marry Benz, so he must have something going for him. However, if it turns out he lied, he will have to deal with me. I don't think he'd dare."

Patt and Benz, long-term friends, married last September after he proposed to her at a racing circuit in Buri Ram.

"We have many young women in our family. When a young man wants to take one as his wife, I tend to be the ruffian. I sound a warning first," Mr Anucha said.

2. Singer claims his Instagram hacked

Dew
Singer Nattapong "Dew" Promsing says he is a victim of an internet hacker who posted an elaborate, bogus chat on his Instagram in which he atones for supposedly hitting his girlfriend.

Dew, of the Star 9 singing contest, appealed to the culprit to stop the malicious attacks, after the fake chat led to a torrent of abuse from netizens who assumed the exchange was real.

The chat purports to be a leaked exchange between Dew and his girlfriend in which she complains of assault, and threatens to go the police.

He pleads with her not to humiliate him in public. The exchange also includes a picture of a woman, whose face cannot be seen, laying a police complaint.

Dew, who said he rarely posts to his Instagram, said the first he heard of the saga was when netizens started leaving abusive messages.

"My girlfriend and I argue like any couple, but I have never hit her," he said.

He said his Instagram had been hacked several times by an overzealous fan who had also set up "anti" websites against him.

"She is angry with me because she wants me to stay single. It's normal for a man to encounter such things on social media," he said. "However, I want her to stop, as people are abusing me for nothing."

Dew's girlfriend, Chanattha "Jiejee" Boonnumsathien, said the fake chat had stunned them both.

She said Dew’s jealous fan had also broken into her IG, and forced it to close.

"She made up stories, created an anti page and hacked into my IG. Maybe she is at it again," she said.

"Dew is not the kind of person to hit anyone, and he doesn't talk like that in chat."

No word was to hand as to whether they intend laying a complaint. -

3. Pok denies dalliance with Woonsen

Namcha, Pok

Businessman Pratarnwong "Pok" Phornprapha says he can barely look his former girlfriend in the eye any more after rumours emerged he was seeing actress Wirithipa "Woonsen" Pakdeeprasong.

Hi-so Pok, CEO of the Siam Motors group, says he broke up with Chiranat "Namcha" Yusanon, a singer, recently after the two failed to see eye to eye.

The end of their three-year relationship predated the reports of his supposed dalliance with Woonsen, but had spoiled things between them.

"Namcha and I broke up on good terms, but since the Woonsen rumours started, we can barely look each other in the eye," he said.

"Namcha and talked about our problems for ages, and both sides tried to change for the other, but we weren't successful.

"As for Woonsen, we are in the same group of friends, but she is my senior. We talked about the rumour, as it left us both agog, but I have not flirted and there’s no way it will happen."

Woonsen, whose marriage to actor Chakrit Yamnarm ended recently, said she wasn’t ready to welcome new men in her life.

"There's no way anyone can see me at the moment or that I will go bothering anyone else," she said. "It's clearly a misunderstanding. I spoke to Namcha and told her I am innocent."
Namcha said she and hi-so Pok quit because neither was having much fun.

"I heard about the Woonsen rumour and asked them both, but have no evidence to support it and think it’s unlikely," she said. "In any event I have no feelings about it any more and just want to move on."
