WINNING LOVE RACE, MIT UNFAZED, AUM’s WEB of DESPAIR

Slum brawl boosts Pat's profile

Pat
Actress Napapa "Pat" Thantrakul, 29, is the flavour of the month with young men on motorcycles after her ill-fated union with a young man from the slums boosted her profile.

Pat says she has poor, self-described street racer Thanapol "Jack" Tayahan, 20, to thank for raising her profile after their secret nine-month relationship ended with a soi-style fight between her family and his new girlfriend’s supporters.

The highly publicised altercation in Bang Kho Laem district on Jan 2 was caught on video and led to legal action, with both sides laying charges of assault. In the meantime, Pat says a rash of young men, aged 15 to 32, have approached her to size up their prospects. Better still, many of them are "big bike" lovers like her.

"Heaps of young men have contacted me since Jack left, though I haven’t found anyone yet and am still single," she said. "They come from a wide variety of ages and ride anything from 125cc to 800cc, crouch-style racing bikes and ordinary bikes as well," she laughed.

Among her fans is young motorcycle taxi driver "Bas" Viratusnusorn with whom she shared some light moments on social media. Pat appears on the back of his bike, but the two insist they are just friends.

At the celebrity end of the spectrum, she has also been paired as an imaginary "ideal girlfriend" to actor Pakin "Tono" Kumvilaisak, another bike lover.

Meanwhile, Pat’s row with Jack and his new love Benjawan Noppan, 21, flared back to life briefly last week after a city cosmetic surgery clinic gave them free nose jobs in the wake of the break-up saga.

The iBabyFace clinic, fronted on social media by someone calling herself "Aunty Voonsen", asked the couple to come forward for free treatment, after she took pity on them for the mauling they received on social media.

Netizens said Jack wasn’t good looking enough to be seeing actress Pat, and nor was Benjawan, a former girlfriend to whom he returned to after his break-up with Pat, pretty enough to warrant his going back to her.

When Voonsen posted her offer, netizens criticised the surgery giveaway, saying there were more deserving cases, such as accident victims.

Voonsen responded acidly: "The more you criticise, the more I will increase their treatment options, so the envious can choke to death."

By Jan 15, the pair had come forward for treatment, and Voonsen posted pictures of them wearing post-surgery nose shells. The clinic gave Jack a simple nose job worth 35,000 baht, but Benjawan received special "open" treatment worth 130,000 baht.

Benjawan, Jack
Actress Pat and her protective niece, Chatthanan "Naf" Taosiripan, 17, who fought with Benjawan in the street fight earlier this month, joined the surgery critics.

"Whatever you sow, you will reap. Not only are you exploiting the publicity for your own advantage, you are causing suffering to others," Naf wrote.

"Plenty of people asked me if this is what that couple wanted all along," Pat added, referring to Jack and Benjawan, whom she accused of colluding to deceive her.

"Ban this site! I can't accept it."

Pat was able to fire off a shot of her own when she disclosed Jack’s parents had been to see her to apologise for his actions during the break-up saga.

"I was shocked. Since we split up, I had never met with his family. I didn't have their number either. Then one day his mother called, apologised on Jack's behalf, and asked if they could bring him over to say sorry in person," she said.

"I said there was no need as I didn’t want to see him again, as I have been hurt enough." The parents returned some items which she had bought Jack, which she promptly gave away to her family members.

Meanwhile, Pat says Benjawan has yet to respond to a police summons for questioning about the soi fight.

"On our side, I have been in to testify as a witness, along with my elder sister and another relative. Naf hasn't been in as she's under 18, and has to be accompanied by a psychologist," Pat said. Police inquiries are continuing. -

2.
Performer 'no longer stressed'

Likay singers Chaiya and brother Mitt
Likay performer Mit Mitchai says he is no longer stressed over the prospect of court action in a multimillion-baht fraud case against him.

Mit, 21, says he is willing to place his faith in the courts, after his former partner accused him of defrauding her and a group of creditors of 35 million baht.

Prosecutors last year filed a case with the Thanyaburi district court in Pathum Thani against Mit. The court has called both parties in for a hearing on Monday.

Mit, who was earlier vomiting up blood and losing sleep at the prospect of legal action, says he is now more relaxed about the prospect of the court deciding his fate. He hasn’t spoken to his former partner, city businesswoman Ranchida "Pui" Sithadechanon, 43, since she laid her police complaint which triggered the court case.

In a messy dispute which went public last September, Pui said she ended up in debt after Mit asked her to help raise funds for his likay business ventures, including a performing troupe, TV broadcasts, and a music video.

She said his business plans came to nothing as he frittered away the money on good living. When they broke up and she asked for the money back, he claimed she gave it out of love.

His lawyer denies it amounts to that much, saying it was more like 20 million baht, including the value of a property. He denies he took the money by using deceptive means.

Asked about the case, Mit and elder sister Ann, also a likay performer, said the family was happy to place their faith in the justice system.

"Both sides insist on their version of the facts, so we can do nothing but follow our lawyers’ advice and let the courts look after the matter," said Ann, claiming Mit was still so young he can barely remember what happened.

"We take it as a lesson that he should live more carefully from now on."

Mit said he is immersing himself in performing and no longer feels as stressed. -

3. 'Sick' rumourmonger 'should die'

Aum and the fake website
Superstar Patcharapa "Aum" Chaichuea says the author of a fake website claiming she killed three people in a car crash should die, as no one would miss him.

Speaking out against a recent wave of fake websites claiming falsely that celebrities have died, or caused innocent people harm, Aum said the person responsible must be sick to carry on with such behaviour.

Penned like a news story, the website targeting Aum read: "Trouble for Aum! She raced her Benz, hit three people and killed them. She insisted she wasn't drunk, but when told to blow into the breathalyser, there it was … she has copped the full force of the law."

It was accompanied by pictures of Aum, speaking into a cellphone as she appears to survey a road accident scene. In fact, the image was taken by a motorist recently after Aum, an animal lover, stopped her car to help a dog in distress.

Aum responded promptly on social media, insisting the road fatality story wasn’t true. In a bluntly worded message to the author, who has yet to be identified, she wrote: "I see you have been busy claiming celebrities are dead, causing trouble for others constantly. Let me ask you honestly, are you sick? What shall we do?

"Have you seen a doctor? Or if you have been for treatment but yet to get better, then why not just die. No one will miss you."

Fans piled in, backing her up.
The fake Aum story comes in the same week that actor Tridsadee "Por" Sahawong, earlier named in a rash of similar fabricated stories, died from complications arising from dengue haemorrhagic fever.

In recent weeks, a rash of websites claimed he had already died, when in fact he was still being treated. The stories alarmed his fans and prompted warnings from media outlets, named in the fabricated stories, to disregard the reports.

The fake websites also named a handful of celebrities, who were pictured at funerals supposedly attending his last rites. The offended parties have since laid complaints with police.
