UNMARRIED, RECOVERING, LAMBASTED

                          Man, Baitoey

Sexy singer Suteewan “Baitoey” Thaveesin says she has no problem with lightning weddings, and if she was to fall pregnant out of wedlock to her boyfriend, it would make one happen even faster.

Baitoey and her boyfriend, actor and DJ Pattanapol “Man” Kunchorn Na Ayutthaya, last week went before the media in the wake of claims by Man’s former co-star in an erotic movie that he tried to get her into bed in real life.

Man earlier admitted his relationship with Baitoey had come under strain since the saga unfolded over his sexy bed scene with model and actress Irin “Pel” Srikaew.

By last week, Man and Baitoey, known for her super-brief miniskirts, were keen to play down the claims. In a happy coincidence of timing, both had been spotted in a bridal shop some days before.

Man said he went there to check out wedding outfits for a work function, not because he was about to marry Baitoey. However, he admitted they had discussed the idea of marriage since they first met.

“I think having a family is the fastest way to security. At 31, I have lived a fair bit of life. I have always dreamed of having a child,” he said.

“Whether we marry before she is pregnant, or I take my child with me to the wedding, as a man I have to be responsible.

“I know Baitoey wants a child, but at the moment we need to look after her health.”

As if to underscore the point that she was sticking by her boyfriend, Baitoey turned up wearing a white dress, complete with silk train, which looked remarkably like a wedding outfit — though it was cut to her usual miniskirt dimensions.

“I am happy to leave the decision to Man and his family. We have been through so much together, marriage seems like the right thing,” she said.

The pair could wed as early as next year. Man said he has to finish work on two more television soaps, then hopes to enter the monkhood in Ayutthaya to make merit for his grandmother. -

Saow Mahd
Country music singer Saow Mahd Megadance’s family is hoping for another miracle after she was admitted to hospital for urgent cranial surgery following an infection.

Saruda Worananthamongkol, as she is also known, was admitted to Ramathibodi Hospital late last week with blood seeping from a head wound — the result of life-saving surgery the year before.

Saow Mahd underwent surgery early last year after contracting toxaemia of the pregnancy, also known as pre-eclampsia.

She was performing in Germany when she realised she was pregnant, but attributed the head pain and numbness in her joints to ordinary morning sickness.

It wasn’t until she returned to Bangkok and went to see a doctor that she was diagnosed as suffering from toxaemia, complicated by anaemia and high blood pressure which was to lead to internal bleeding.

In February last year, Saow Mahd was admitted to hospital unconscious. Doctors performed emergency surgery to release a build-up of blood in the brain. Fearing for her chances, they also surgically removed her five-month old child, who weighed just five grammes.

Saow Mahd was to spend almost two months unconscious in hospital, her baby four months in an incubator, fed by a plastic tube. Her medical bills came to 10 million baht.

In an interview in February, Saow Mahd said she has her husband and Bangkok Hospital to thank for her recovery. Their daughter, Kaem Sai, is now 11 months old and doing well.

Her husband, Suksan “Krung” Chuwiang, cares for her at home. A wet nurse helps looks after Kaem Sai.

Work offers are coming in, and she had recently performed on stage from the first time in her wheelchair. -

Netizens have harsh words for actor Jason Young after he admitted getting engaged to a woman he didn’t want to marry.

Jason last week dispelled some of the myths surrounding his decision to enter the monkhood in July, 2012, as he took part in a ceremony to open filming on his latest TV series.

The Channel 3 actor is relaunching his acting career after leaving the monkhood in January.

Jason donned the saffron robes abruptly, ending his month-long engagement to his Indian-Thai girlfriend Darika Chokota.

Media reports said Jason intended to stay in the monkhood for life. Darika said she forgave Jason for his decision to call off their engagement, as he felt the calling of religion was too great.

When Jason resurfaced early this year, having served a mere 21 months in the monkhood, many Thais asked whether he had entered the monkhood simply to avoid marriage.

Speaking at the television function, Jason said he never meant to stay in the monkhood for life, despite reports to the contrary. Nor did he enter the monkhood because he lacked the courage to call off his relationship with Darika.

“Even if I hadn’t stayed in the monkhood so long, the wedding would still not have gone ahead,” he said.

“I made the decision myself, though I didn’t tell her. She is bound to know by now, after reading the news.

“I don’t want to go into detail. It’s long past, and I have nothing further to say.”

Netizens take a dim view of his remarks, saying they show he lacks courage.

“If you didn’t like her, or want to live with her, you should have said so. You’re so selfish. She’s a person, not a freak. I’m sure she would have understood,” one wrote.

Another critic said Darika’s parents must be blushing after his confession.

“Your time in the monkhood hasn’t helped. Your words are full of emotion, and you show signs of keeping things suppressed. Why did you get engaged? Why didn’t you tell her at the outset you weren’t interested?

“You decided against it, but used the monkhood as your cover, claiming you couldn‘t go ahead because you were putting religion first.

“I have one word for you: Gutless. Have you ever spared a thought for her parents? How can they hold their heads up after your latest comments?”

Jason has yet to respond to the criticism.
