TANGMO’S ONE POINT, SUTHEP’S SHOOT, MO PATCHES IT UP

'One Point'
Activist actress Pattarida ''Tangmo'' Patcharaweerapong has bought herself a fight with Pheu Thai MP Pai ''One Point'' Lik after she accused him of being a figure of fun.

‘‘If you want to get into exposing people for doing this and that, I’m up for it. Very few of you entertainers are as clean as you like to make out.

‘‘If you meddle in my affairs, I’ll return the favour. Let’s see who can dish out more,’ he said in an angry exchange on Instagram yesterday.

Earlier, Tangmo left a message on the Instagram page of Thai-Japanese model Chanya Tamada, after she complained that Pai, who she regarded as an elder brother, had now found another romantic interest in his life.

Pai had posted on his IG page pictures of himself on a Valentine’s Day outing with singer and actress Arisara ‘’Dew'' Thongborisut.

Both Dew and Chanya have denied seeing Pai romantically, each claiming ''special friend’’ status only. Chanya is evidently unhappy, however, saying Pai had put his ‘‘wife’’ before herself, and appeared not to love her any more.

Responding to that message, Tangmo asked on Chanya’s IG why she was bothering to show an interest in Pai.

‘‘Why care about that dull looking fatty? He might mean something in your eyes, but the rest of the country thinks he’s a figure of fun.’’
Tangmo
Pai, a motor racer and son of veteran Khampaeng Phet politician Ruangwit Lik, responded angrily, asking why Tangmo, a regular on the anti-government protest stage, was meddling in his affairs.

''Don’t try to come over as the clever one, better than everyone else. Don’t come around here accusing us of ripping off the country.

''Do you really think you’re that great? I hear you’re busy taking other people’s boyfriends overseas and having them buy gifts for you. You’ve obviously come up with a new sideline profession for yourself,’’ he wrote.

‘‘Some entertainers don’t know a thing, especially about politics. They still meddle, accusing others of graft. I ask honestly, are you really so pure?

''Your crowd sets up tax dodge entities… some of you are busy chasing out the Shinawatra clan, but your close friends might come from the same family.

''You might be much better than this ordinary guy, but then you take up with someone else’s boyfriend…’’

Dew quickly excused herself from the row, but advised Tangmo not to meddle.

''Sometimes it’s not necessary for us to interfere in the affairs of others…they can sort them out themselves. We know Pai’s good points and bad points well. I don’t want an argument, but I will have to side with him in this case, as he has done no wrong,’’ she wrote.

A clearly stung Tangmo replied, asking if she was in fact addressing the wrong person. ''We don’t know each other, dear.’’

Pai rounded on Tangmo again, warning her that interfering in the affairs of others could have consequences.

''If you want to get into exposing people in public, I’m up for it. I am not a star, and do not have an image to preserve. I am a politician, but I am not corrupt.

''This matter does not concern politics, but is personal.  I am quite happy to let things be, but since you started it…''

Tangmo has yet to reply to Pai’s challenge. -

Suthep
Former politician Suthep Thaugsuban’s transformation into a celebrity street protester is all but complete, as he poses for the cover shoot for a leading fashion magazine out next month.

The People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) head takes a break from his efforts to bring down the government to appear on the front cover of Lips magazine, in a shoot overseen by editor in chief and protest backer Sakchai Songsriwisut Guy.

Images taken of the shoot, published on social media outlets last week, show Mr Suthep in his trademark check shirt and brown trousers, standing against a white backdrop. He makes no attempt to hide his small paunch.

In another shot, he is seating, arms folded, wearing a fixed toothy smile. In still other images he holds his right hand aloft to signal the victory which still eludes him.

He wears his usual protest paraphernalia, including a badge over his pocket bearing the colours of the Thai flag; a wristband, and whistle.

Sakchai, who oversaw the shoot, is a donor to the PDRC cause, and was named by the Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order as among 61 financial ''pipeline''’ supporters of the movement.

Welcoming news of the shoot, netizens at the anti-government ASTV/Manager website say Mr Suthep should be named as person of the year. Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, however, should go down as ‘‘the person who sucks the blood from poor farmers’’, one said.

Next up in the parade of celebrity protesters who will appear in fashion magazines is PDRC co-leader and former deputy Democrat Party spokeswoman Chitipas ''Tun'' Bhirombhakdi.

Ms Chitipas will appear in a shoot for Dichan magazine, also out next month. -

Mo, Kat
Actress Ameena ''Mo'' Pinij and her tomboy husband are back together after a frosty patch in which each admitted seeing someone else.

Mo took her husband, tomboy Jirachaya ''Kat'' Kongnimit, to an industry event shortly before Valentine’s Day last week to say they are trying again. The pair were married in Hua Hin in July last year.  Mo wore a bridal dress, and Kat a suit.

Unimpressed with their marriage nuptials, Mo’s mother later went before the media to insist her daughter would soon see the error of her ways and would start taking an interest in men again.

The Channel 7 actress demurred, saying men would hold out only a brief attraction. Sooner or later, she would have to go back to being her true self.

Shortly after, a young admirer befriended Kat, while Mo herself was spotted being unfaithful as she shared a kiss with another tom at a city restaurant.

By last week, however, the two had made up again, with Mo declaring that Kat’s friend was merely a ‘‘stand-in’’ for those times when she couldn’t be there herself.

‘'I haven’t had words with Kat’s young friend, as I don’t see the need. Really, she should have known from the outset that I would object, and stayed away,’’ she said.

‘‘I insist there can only be one person in Kat’s life, and that’s me. If you approach, you’ll only ever be an extra, not the real thing,’’ she said.

Writing on Instagram, Mo was even blunter, thanking Kat’s friend, who she would not name, for being there when she couldn’t take care of Kat herself.

‘‘You were a stand-by in those times when she was lonely. I am delighted, and know you’re just friends,’’ she wrote.

Kat said she and Mo now understood each other better and were planning a romantic trip away.
