Ploy |
Appearing at an industry function last week, Ploy said she had taken shelter at home since she set off the tax dodging furore by accusing an event organising company of under-paying her.
"I'm feeling better now, though if I was not booked to appear at this function I would still be at home,'' she said.
"It's not completely over, but my family and friends are being supportive. They tell me to fight on.''
Ploy said she welcomed scrutiny by the taxman of her finances and insisted she had nothing to hide.
Doubts about whether Ploy was evading taxes emerged when the event organiser, Absolute For You, replied to Ploy's criticisms by revealing it was asked to register her for withholding tax in someone else's name.

If the company had filled out the tax form in her name, Ploy as an independent contractor would have been liable to pay 5% tax on the 150,000 baht which she was paid. By filling it out in the name of an ordinary taxpayer, she would be liable for tax of just 3%.
"I thought it was unusual, as normally we would both fill out the tax form and make out the cheque in the name of the performer,'' Mr Art said.
"I assumed he must be a relative or someone who looks after her finances, as Ploy's manager told me that Ploy has four companies.''
Ploy, however, has insisted an error by her accountants was to blame. She made a teary apology before the media on Aug 29 for her sharp tongue.
In early exchanges with the company, Ploy called its manager a "mangy foul-mouthed dog'', after he allegedly criticised her on Facebook. The company denied making the Facebook entry.
Ploy also published on Instagram a picture of herself with businessman Sanchai "Peck'' Engtrakul, with the message: "Don't mess with us.''

Speaking to the Khao Sod newspaper, Ploy's legal adviser, Kong Hiransurong, said the actress's accountants had mistakenly sent a copy of Mr Thaweesak's ID card to the event organiser.
When Ploy noticed the error, she contacted him, and he asked the accountants to rectify the tax certificate, which they have now done.
And if you think about it, if Ploy was really in the wrong, why would she have made such a big deal out it? he said. The actress had told him she did not know Mr Thaweesak.
Mr Thaweesak, contacted by reporters, said he was a distant relation of Ploy's mother, and thought nothing of it when his son repeatedly asked for the loan of his ID card.
His son, Tueng, asked for the card so he could receive payments on behalf of Ploy, he told the Daily News newspaper. He would deposit the cheque and transfer the money to the actress.
Mr Thaweesak said he was happy to cooperate, as Ploy's family had been good to him.
Citing the veiled threat she published on Instagram, Thais have criticised Ploy for allegedly pulling strings with the taxman, and asked whether she was really sincere in her apology before the media. Ploy went before reporters with her mother, Thanda Nilpirom.
"Ploy pulled up her mother at one point, asking what specifically she was apologising for,'' one poster wrote. "She looked her usual defiant self, as if she wasn't really serious at all.''
The Revenue Department, stung by claims it has allowed celebrities to get away with paying less than their fair share, on Wednesday called a seminar to remind the high-earners among them of their legal obligations. Ploy, who was among those invited, said she was delighted to attend.
"I know little about taxes. I'm just the front person who performs at events,'' she said.
Deputy Finance Minister Tanusak Lek-uthai said the department would call in Ploy, the event organiser and Mr Thaweesak to question them about their role in the affair. Ploy's taxes were also being scrutinised.
Ploy said she regrets the fact that her own sharp tongue had caused so much bother. "It's not about the taxes. This whole saga started when I was criticised on Facebook,'' she said testily to a reporter, who asked her if it was worth complaining about the paltry sum of 4,500 baht in tax.
"I did nothing wrong. I just lost it, and made some unwise remarks. I'm now paying for it,'' she said. -

Actor "Nat'' Thephasdin na Ayutthaya denies he has a crush on a
kathoey cabaret performer and makes secret visits to Pattaya to watch her
perform under the nose of his socialite girlfriend.
Nat said he was annoyed to read in the celebrity gossip press that he has fallen for Alcazar cabaret performer Purimprach "Lookpad'' Chaiyakam, and is so besotted with the girl that he travels to Pattaya every Friday to watch her perform.
TV Inside magazine published a picture of Nat and Lookpad together, and asked what was happening with young men these days when so many of them appear to be falling for ladyboys.
Nat, however, said he has been to the Alcazar cabaret show only once,
when he took his mother and a Malaysian friend of hers to see the show.
"My friend's mother was dead keen to go, so I took her. After the show, the performers pose with members of the audience. My mother and her friend were egging me on, and said Lookpad looked particularly pretty. I agreed to have my picture taken with her, though I did not think much of it,'' he said.
Nat said he does not travel to see Lookpad perform every week as claimed, as he works seven days a week making soap operas.
"I do not have much free time. I have witnesses who can vouch for my movements. This rumour could harm my reputation,'' he said.
Lookpad, a former Miss Alcazar 2005 and Thailand's Got Talent contestant, is also an actress.
Commenting on the magazines' speculation that he might be gay, Nat said he didn't know why the magazine would make such claims.
"Perhaps it's because I like to take care of my appearance. I don't understand either, but in any case I prefer women. I like to wear good clothes and look after myself, but that's it,'' he said.
Nat said he had explained the saga to his girlfriend, socialite Siripaka `Noina'' Kanasoot, who understood.
"We call each other every day, so she knows my movements and what I'm doing. While Noina understands, I'm still worried about what her parents might think, as the claims look ugly,'' he said. -

Actor Kanin "Kan'' Patmanan says a leaked video clip of him making
love to an actress is in fact a campaign advertisement warning young people of
the dangers of taking drugs.
Reporters contacted Kan after a young man of his likeness appeared in the clip which did the rounds on social media last week.
The young man is pictured straddling a young woman, later identified as model Panpim "Pam'' Techatanachaiyaphat, as they share a bedroom scene.
Still clips have been published in the mainstream media, including
side shots, rear view shots and close-up face shots of both participants, making
what looks to be steamy love.
"Kan says the clip was a love scene excerpt from a campaign video which the pair made for the Office of the Narcotics Control Board, warning youngsters against the evils of crystal methamphetamine (ice).
"I regard it as a way of helping society, and I hope the public will understand,'' he said.
The clip has left Thais wondering, however, what portraying a young couple in bed has to do with taking drugs.
"Is the board warning people off drugs, or actually encouraging young people to have sex?'' ne poster asked.
