LOVE COUP, WOODY CUT DOWN TO SIZE, NO CASH FOR KOR

Peuy
Sexy actress and model Panward "Peuy'' Hemmanee is willing to make a few sacrifices as she prepares to marry into a famous military family.

Peuy announced last week that she is seeing Nithi "Pop'' Boonyaratkalin, the son of MP Sonthi Boonyaratkalin, the former army chief, 2006 coup-maker and now reconciliator extraordinaire.

Peuy, Pop
The pair, who have been going out for eight months, kept their relationship secret until Peuy published pictures on the internet of her and Pop having a meal together.

Pop, like his father before him, has entered the military, where he serves as a navy lieutenant. He divides his time between here and the UK, where he is pursuing naval studies.

Peuy and Pop hope to marry by mid-year, though Peuy denies she is rushing into it.

"We knew each other before, so had plenty of time to assess each other,'' Peuy said last week, as she opened up for the first time about their relationship.

"Pop has to return for another round of tuition in the UK by September. He probably doesn't want to leave me alone. I might go with him for a holiday, and come back here to work,'' she said.

"I know he's the right one for me. He indulges me, and loves me more much than I expected. I have to love back the person who loves me so much,'' she said.

If a military man knows what sacrifice means, so does Peuy. She has announced she is prepared to convert to Islam to be with Pop, who was raised a Muslim - and even put a hold on her sexy modelling work to ensure he doesn't get jealous.

"Of course he gets possessive. We both do. I won't go so far as ruling out any swimwear or sexy modelling work, as no one has forbidden me from doing anything.

"However, I'm conscious of what his family might think, and will have to screen work offers more carefully,'' Peuy said.

Converting to Islam would not be a problem, as she has plenty of Muslim friends, and was raised in the South, a Muslim stronghold.

"We have yet to discuss where we should marry, or exactly when. Pop has checked the hotels, and most are busy with wedding bookings this year.

"I've yet to think about my wedding dress, though it will be easier for him ... he can wear his naval uniform,'' she said.

Peuy, who previously dated singer Watthisit "Tem'' Seubsuwann, said Pop had yet to meet her family, though the pair planned to travel to Hat Yai soon to meet her mother.

"It's every girl's dream to get married, and my mother is delighted that I've finally found the right man for me,'' said Peuy, aged 32.

"Everything we do is under the gaze of our parents,'' she said, when asked how Pop's family felt.

Peuy won't reveal how Pop asked for her hand in marriage. News reports said Pop's family contacted her own to make a formal request of marriage on his behalf.

"He didn't go so far as to get down on bended knee. We'll leave that question for another day, shall we?'' she said.  -

Ploy
Actress and model Cherman "Ploy'' Boonyasak has put a TV presenter in his place after his production crew tried to harry her from a fashion event to his own awards show at short notice.

Outspoken Ploy chased away presenter Woody Milintachinda's crew after they insisted she abandon the fashion show at Central Chidlom department store for an awards presentation, the inaugural Kert awards, which he was fronting elsewhere in town.

"They tried to jump the queue,'' she said last week.

"I was booked to appear at a fashion show marking the 40th year of the Jaspal fashion brand, but Woody's people insisted I appear at his awards show instead.

"I couldn't just leave the Jaspal function, as they booked me a month ago. Woody's team contacted me only the week before, and knew I was busy.

"However, they turned up at the show insisting that I at least give them an interview to camera,'' she said.

Earlier, they called her manager non-stop for days until his phone battery went dead.

"They also turned up at an earlier event where I was booked, and told the organisers I had agreed to an interview, when in fact I had yet to speak to them,'' she added.

Media reports said Ploy chased them out of the Jaspal event, as their pushiness went too far.

"I was in the middle of rehearsals ... they were putting me in a sling and dropping me on a piano. I couldn't just up and leave.

"I was booked to appear at two events that night. I told them I had just half an hour to spare, and we had yet to rehearse the sling routine.

"They told me not to worry about the Jaspal event, that they would get a police car to escort me to Woody's show.''

She carried on rehearsing, only to find the pushy TV crew set up a chair on the stage for her interview.
Woody

"The organisers asked me if I had given them permission. I hadn't,'' she said.

Ploy refused an interview, and didn't appear at the Kert awards either, even though she was one of the award recipients.

Asked for his reaction, Woody said he had no hard feelings that his friend Ploy wasn't able to attend, but added: "She has always been clear that paying events [such as the fashion show] take priority over free events [such as the awards],'' he said.

Ploy said Woody was wrong. "Money has nothing to do with it. I had accepted the fashion job first, and they tried to jump the queue. His production crew has no manners,'' she said.

Neither Woody nor Ploy has picked up the phone to clear the air with the other side, both insisting they have done no wrong. -

Kor
A former actor is vowing to appeal after a court refused to uphold his charge of fraud against a woman he claims owes him 550,000 baht.

Theerasak "Kor'' Pantujariya took legal action against former actress Sida Puapimon last June after she failed to return money he lent her, supposedly to make a soap opera.

Kor, a former actor now involved in the cosmetics and fashion industry, said Sida came to him in tears, asking for money to help her make a TV soap for the JSL Global Media production company.

He auditioned for a role. However, when he called the company months later after failing to hear of progress, he was told the project had been shelved.

He laid fraud charges against Sida after she failed to pay back the money, which he lent her in September, 2010.
Sida
The Phra Khanong court last week overturned his complaint, saying the pair entered the soap venture together, with him putting up the capital.

Sida did not intend to defraud him. The production simply failed to go ahead.

Reacting to the verdict, Kor said he felt stressed, as society would think he was the party who did wrong.

Sida had signed a loan agreement with him, but since falling on hard times had declined to return his calls, or repay the money.

"I have no choice but to appeal, even if it takes a couple of years,'' Kor said.

"Yes, plenty of people feel sorry for Sida, because she lost her son. But people also feel sorry for me, as the party on the receiving end, he said. The truth has not changed. We reap what we sow,'' he said.

Sida has admitted owing money to celebrity friends including Kor, but says she intends paying it back.

After Kor went public about his complaint, a gaunt, thin looking Sida entered a Buddhist nunnery to help her recover her stamina.

"I was borrowing from loan sharks just to survive from day to day,'' she said.

Sida lost her son, actor Apichart "Aof'' Puapimon, 30, in November, 2006, to a heart attack brought on by asthma. Kor, who was a friend of Aof for 20 years, admits that one reason he loaned Sida the money was out of pity.
