FIZZLED OUT, CHEEKY LOOKALIKES, SEXIER IN 60 SECONDS, DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?

Note, Aum
Actress "Aum'' Chaichuea says her relationship with socialite Kornwat "Note'' Chaiwirawat ended with a fizz rather than a bang, denying she baked his mobile phone in the microwave to punish him for his womanising ways.

Aum said she and Note, who is known for his wandering eye, called it quits a month ago, though they parted amicably rather than with heated scenes in the kitchen, as some media reports have claimed.

"Who would put a mobile phone in the microwave? It would explode,'' said Aum innocently last week, as she broke the news to reporters that their relationship had ended.

"It shouldn't be surprising if I should find out he's with someone, should it, because he has many women,'' she said.

Aum had downgraded Note's status in her life from boyfriend to mere friend, she said, and the pair had not talked since deciding to call it quits.

"If reporters see him escorting women about town, I don't want to be asked, as I don't know who it is. He's handsome, so he can pick and choose who he wants.

"I want him to leave my life in the same way he entered it - quietly,'' she said, adding she was now in the market for love.

"I am 100 percent single. I don't expect any promises, though I would like my next boyfriend to be a little older. All I would ask is that he has eyes only for me,'' she said.

Note has kept his peace since Aum declared they were now apart.

Aum was known for upbraiding her boyfriend in public for his supposed dalliances with other women.

In February, she accused former actress Rungnapa "Kae'' Phongthipsukon (Nathanin Khunathanat) of giving Note a saucy back rub at a pub outing.

Days before, Aum reigned in her boyfriend after he was seen socialising with starlet "S'' without her knowledge. Aum took Note before the media to explain claims that he had been seen with a Channel 3 actress, widely thought to be Pantitha "Sammie'' Puwijaan.

Note denied anything improper, but for the sake of a peaceful life pledged to avoid seeing women one-on-one, unless Aum knew about it first.

The month before, Aum learned through the media that Note had been seen at a party with actress "J'', thought to be her close friend, Janie Tienposuwan. Last August, in yet another sighting, Note was linked to socialite ladyboy Ratchada "Amie'' Krutramas.

Celebrity fortune-teller Mor Krit, who at the start of the year correctly predicted Aum and Note would call it quits by May, said Aum's next relationship is likely to be more successful, as her boyfriend will be a cool-headed type.

He will also be overseas-educated, older, and a politician or businessman, he said. -

Pai (CD cover) and his impersonator
Police are looking for two men who have passed themselves off as popular country music singers so convincingly that some of their fans seemed not to notice.

Music giant Grammy Entertainment last week laid a complaint with Economic Crime Division police against two men whom it says improperly impersonated artists Pai Phongsathorn and Pee Saderd.

Pee (CD cover) and his impersonator
Grammy's lawyers brought along evidence including photographs and videos of the pair.

The accused were identified as Akom Srithep, who is said to impersonate Pee Saderd, and Chuaporn Saenlerngruang, who is allegedly passing himself off as Pai Phongsathorn.

"They hire themselves out for acts in Bangkok and the provinces, and have been doing it for more than a year,'' said Anuchid Tadseow and Phanom Buacha-oom, lawyers for Grammy who laid the complaint with the police.

"They charge the public for entry to the concerts, distribute CDs of their music, and in some cases act inappropriately, such as turning up late for functions. This gives the real artists a bad name,'' they said.

Performers who want to perform Grammy music have to seek permission, they said.

The imposters dress and wear their hair in a similar manner, and look so convincing that many fans had been duped, they said. One videotape showed Pee Saderd's alleged impersonator performing as a stage technician struggled to adjust his sagging microphone.

Grammy executives had invited the imposters in for a chat, so far without success. Police says the complaint appears to be a straightforward case of copyright breach. They will call the duo in for questioning. -

Mai
Actress and presenter Sukonthawa "Mai'' Kerdnimit is distancing herself from claims that the breast enhancement cream she endorses can make breasts bouncier in just a minute.

Mai has acted as a presenter for Breast Sense enhancement cream for the past three years. Last week, reporters told her that the manufacturer had started claiming in advertising that the potion can work wonders in a mere 60 seconds.

"Our cream can make your breasts bouncier in just a minute ... Mai confirms!'' the advertising boasts.

Mai, who said the claim took her by surprise, agreed that it sounded over the top. "I know nothing about it, and I had better leave the explanation up to the manufacturer,'' she added diplomatically.

The cream had received Food and Drug Administration approval, and was selling well.

"Based on my experience, I can tell you that the cream can make breasts firmer in a matter of weeks, though you have to keep using it,'' said Mai.

Mai, who also acts as a presenter for an underwear line, rejected a tag coined for her by reporters of "Mai, Sex Shop Queen''.

"No, thanks ... that name is far too scary. I present the cream, and the underwear, to help women look prettier and more graceful. But that's it,'' she said. -

Film
Singer Rattapoom "Film'' Tokongsub is blaming his poor English for an unfortunate episode overseas in which he was imprisoned for a day by British police, who thought he was making porn flicks.

Film was caught videoing a private party thrown by his classmates in Britain, where he spent four months learning English, and filming his day-to-day life overseas for a reality-style TV show.

"My classmates are hi-so types and forbade anyone from filming what happened at the pub, as it was a private party.

"But my production crew and I snuck in to tape what was going on anyway - only to have the police follow us back to our place, and accuse us of making porn movies,'' he told reporters last week.

Film returned from his trip this month, but word of his escapades in the UK have only just reached these shores.

"|When police turned up, they found the three members of my crew, a production studio on the bottom floor, a huge pile of videotapes and six cameras,'' he said, explaining why authorities jumped to the conclusion that he was making saucy movies.

"My English is also weak, which may have led to misunderstandings,'' admitted the singing star.

"I left for overseas straight after leaving the monkhood in Thailand. My hair and eyebrows were only just growing back ... I must have looked unhinged,'' he said.

"I told them I was a star, but they didn't believe me,'' said Film. He asked if he could contact the Thai embassy in London to back up his word.

Film believes one of his classmates complained to police. "I wai-ed people madly in the hope they would understand.''

Police heard he may have filmed guests' underwear. Film, his production crew and two friends were all accused of misconduct.

Police locked up Film for the day while they made inquiries. He was eventually released, though his film-making gear has been seized for three months.
