Annie's 'Three other' men, Pinky drops Peck for Mum

RS Promotion head Surachai ''Hia Hor'' Chetchotisak is under pressure to apologise to actress Rungnapa ''Annie'' Brook, whom he accused of seeing four men late last year at the time she supposedly fell pregnant with the baby of RS superstar Rattapoom ''Film'' Tokongsub.

A women's advocacy group has stepped in to the row, urging Annie to take legal action against Hia Hor for soiling her reputation.

On the internet, angry Thais are threatening a boycott of RS entertainment products unless Hia Hor apologises for his comments, which have also led to the resignation of a Channel 3 star whom Sia Hor alleges was another one of Annie's four men.

The Friends of Women Foundation, which is helping Annie, said an unidentified caller had threatened to abduct her child, whom she has entrusted to relatives for the time being.

Annie denied Sia Hor's claims that she is a loose woman, and called on all parties to the row to take a step back.

Commenting on the paternity row engulfing Film, RS Promotion's biggest asset, Hia Hor said on Tuesday that Film was just one of four men with whom Annie, a Thai/Swiss actress, had relations with late last year.

Any one of them could have fathered the child, which Annie claims is actually Film's, he suggested.

Annie's claims that Film is the unwilling father of her three-month-old son damaged Film's standing, especially after Film demanded a DNA test as proof that he was indeed the father.

Since then the scandal has widened, with RS critics accusing Hia Hor of searching for a scapegoat for Film's woes - even after Film softened his stance, and agreed to help support the child regardless of whether Annie agreed to let him take a DNA test.

Hia Hor claimed that Annie demanded 250,000 baht from each of the four men as hush money. If they refused to pay, she would tell Thais they had fathered the child.

His discoveries about Annie's past have changed the way he looked at the paternity row involving Film and Annie, he said.

''I have checked information going back 12 months. I don't know how many men she was seeing at that time, but what I can tell you is that in late November and December last year, Annie was talking to four men. She told them she was pregnant, and asked from them 250,000 baht each. One was Film; another was Channel 3 actor Kittikoon 'Joon' Samritpansuk.''

While Film was willing to accept responsibility, Joon had agreed to pay the woman the money she demanded, and took flight overseas.

''Men who display [promiscuous] behaviour can hardly deny they are in the wrong,'' Hia Hor said.

''But we can also look at it in a different way. We can feel sorry for Film and Joon, because they are both victims of this woman's conduct.''

He declined to disclose the names of the other two men.

A Channel 3 executive told him what happened to Joon, as the actor had sought his advice after receiving Annie's demand.

Hours after Hia Hor's comments, Channel 3's head of programming, Somrak Narongwichai, told the media he had passed on the information to the RS head, and stood by the claims that Annie had attempted extorting hush money from Joon.

Contacted by reporters, however, Joon denied having relations with Annie, paying her hush money, or taking shelter overseas.

''My family travels overseas every year. As for the money, I am too mean even to loanlend my manager 500 baht,'' he said.

He resigned from Channel 3, saying he was unwilling to act as anyone's scapegoat in the row,

Mr Somrak attributed Joon's denial to a misunderstanding. He spoke to Joon early in the week, but since then had been unable to make contact.

Earlier, Hia Hor said Annie should agree to her child having a DNA test, and apologise for what she had done. He had decided to let Film return to work, after earlier putting on hold his work schedule until Film agreed to take responsibility.

Denying claims that she was seeing four men at once, Annie said no woman who fell pregnant would be mad enough to take such risks with her unborn child.

Few people in this saga show any awareness of the value of women; they disparage women, just for the fun of it, she said.

In an open letter to the media, Dr Chertchu Ariyasri Wattana, head of the women's protection centre for the Friends of the Women Foundation, urged Thais to boycott RS products, as RS head Hia Hor had trampled on women's dignity.

She urged Annie to take legal action against him, and said foundation lawyers were collecting evidence on her behalf.

The same day as his ''gang of four'' revelations, Annie went before the media in a pre-recorded interview to reaffirm she was unwilling to let her son take a DNA test.

''If I agree to a test, I'm worried Film's family will want to take him away and raise my son as their own,'' she said.

Annie said Film virtually abandoned her to give birth and bring up the child alone - an echo, she said, of what happened to her own mother, whose husband abandoned the family as soon as Annie was born.

''My mother drove to hospital to give birth alone. As soon as my father saw me, he took off,'' she said.

Earlier, Film's mother, Kormmon Thongmung, was admitted to hospital after coming down with a stress-related condition as the battle raged around her son.

On Sept 22, family values campaigner Rabiabrat Pongpanit, a former senator, told the media thatFilm appeared to regard womenas mere objects of sexual gratification.

''Film's behaviour was careless and promiscuous,'' said the Happy Family Association chairwoman.

Mrs Tokongsub said when she heard Rabiabrat criticise her son, she felt like dying right in front of the television. She was admitted to hospital with stress the same day.

''Those are not the remarks of an adult or leader. She shows no consideration for the feelings of others,'' said Mrs Tokongsub, in an open letter to the media.

''These days, my family knows little but sorrow,'' she wrote. -

Pinky and her Mum
The mother of embattled Channel 3 actress Savika ''Pinky'' Chaiyadej has come out to defend her daughter against claims that she is seeing another woman's husband.

In a teary appearance before the media, Pinky's mother, Sarinya Chaiyadej, said she was tired of persistent rumours - which first surfaced in April - that Pinky was trying to break up the marriage of socialite Peck Sunchai and his wife, actress and presenter Tanyaret ''Tanya'' Engtrakul.

''The media should give Tanya and Peck support, to help them get back on good terms again,'' she said.

''I have morals, and taught my daughter right from wrong, she said in tears. I have never taught her to wrest away someone else's husband. Why would she do that? We have enough money to look after our own needs.

''I told Peck he should regard Pinky as a younger sister, and that, with a wife and a child, he has a bright future in front of him.''

On webboards, Thais claim they have spotted the pair on outings together in Phuket. More rumours claim other performers in Channel 3's stable have refused to work with her.

Pinky said she was no longer in contact with Peck.

According to initial news reports in April giving rise to rumours of their affair, Peck and Pinky were caught on a security camera, kissing in the lift of a city hotel. Other reports had them coo-ing over each other on an aircraft.

When reports of his alleged infidelity surfaced, Tanya threatened to leave her husband. He promised to reform himself, and Tanya asked for time to start anew.

Tanya is now in the US with family. Peck returned to Bangkok recently to pursue work commitments.

Pinky said the campaign of whispering and innuendo was hurtful: ''These days, I hardly go anywhere without my mum, yet I never see the media reporting us out together, only these fictional sightings of me with Peck.

''They claim I have popped up in this province, or that one ... maybe I have been to all four regions. I don't know what to say any more, I really don't.''
