Keep it zipped, Not so small, Let it go, It's a stunt, Up for hire

Ae, Pai, Buay
Two television hosts have curbed their itch to gossip after the Criminal Court found them guilty of defamation in a case brought by a motor racer.

The Criminal Court on Wednesday found Kun Pak (Itch To Speak) hosts Chettawut "Buay" Watcharakun, above right, and Pornthip "Ae" Wongkijanon, above left, defamed Pai "One Point" Lik, above middle, a motor racer and son of former veteran politician Ruangwit, in remarks broadcast on the Channel 7 programme last year.

They claimed that Mr Pai and close friend, actress Yardthip "Yard" Rajpal, shacked up together and liked to take drugs.

The court sentenced them to three months in jail and fined them 30,000 baht. However, in recognition of their useful testimony, the court discounted the sentence by one third, and suspended it for one year.

The pair argued that they were merely reading from the script and did not mean anyone harm. They also gave Yadthip a chance to knock back the claims.

Leaving court, Buay said he was relieved with the verdict, and will consult his lawyer on whether to appeal.

"We are more cautious about what we say on the show now. Neither of us have been taken to court before. It's just an entertainment show, but we are both more aware of the need to tread carefully," he said.

Mr Pai has also taken a case in the Civil Court against the pair for their remarks, in which he claims damages of 50 million baht. Evidence from witnesses will be called on Oct 19. -

Kri
Model Patswipich "Kri" Sornakarapa has gone under the surgeon's knife to enlarge her breasts from an A cup to a C cup, and is proud of the result.

"I fitted loosely into a 75A, and have now upped myself to a C," she said last week.

She was happy to admit having enlarged her breasts - though she denied she has hit the catwalk bra-less, to show off the goods, as some media reports claim.

"I was sick of having to carry so much silicone around. Whenever I was booked for a modelling event, I had to take along three sets of silicone enhancers - equivalent to six breasts," she said.

"I stuffed in so much that sometimes the silicone would pop up, or the bags would make me itchy. My nipple ended up in such a strange position that I was worried it might slip out.

"My small size was also causing a problem for retouch artists and stylists. Retouch artists complained about how much work was involved in touching up my pictures," she said.

Kri went under the knife two weeks ago. "Since I had my breasts enlarged, I feel more confident in my work," she said. "I don't have to haul about all that silicone, nor stress about what kind of dress I will have to wear _ whether it will show me up as too small."

Actress Patcharapa "Aum" Chaichuea has some harsh words for a socialite kathoey in their row over whether Aum's boyfriend hired the kathoey as his sideline girl.

Kathoey Ratchada "Amie" Krutramas has denied suggestions she was a sideline girl (call girl) hired to help Aum's love interest, Kornwat "Note" Chaiwirawat, cheer the football.

Denying she did that kind of work for a living, Amie, a student, suggested last week that her relationship with Note went further than Aum - who earlier paraded him before the media to insist the pair were still an item - was prepared to admit.

To add further spice to their row, she said she had made a tape-recording of a conversation between herself, Aum and Note, which she has yet to release.

Aum says Amie's latest comments failed to destabilise her relationship with Note, contrary to media reports which said Aum had pulled the plug.

A radio presenter and celebrity kathoey, both friends of Aum's, last week waded in to the row. They said Amie - little known publicly before the saga with Note unfolded - was trying to gain fame at Aum's expense.

Aum is unfazed. "The entertainment industry welcomes people from all professions," she said sarcastically.

"It's time to let it go. Nothing can hurt me. Its time to stop trying to create media buzz, or this saga could grow bigger still," she said, directing her remarks at Amie.

Asked about Amie's soundclip, Aum said she was delighted to hear the news. "Amie comes prepared. She is taking her first steps in the industry," she said.-

Coco
Manager Nirun "Coco" Limsomwong has run into trouble with a young member of his talent stable.

One aspiring actor threatened to hit him with a shower hose after he was rejected for a TV movie role.

Coco, who has history of trouble with his young talent, has complained to police after acting newcomer George brandished a hose, held him in a head lock, and swore at him.

George claimed he missed out on a casting opportunity for the TV movie, Panthai Norasing, directed by Prince Chatrichalerm Yukol, because Coco tried to undermine him.

"Organisers invited George for a casting call, but changed their minds,"said Coco. "He was not asked to do a test. He believes he missed out because I sent two other youngsters along in his place.

"It's not true. The producers make those decisions, not me.

"But George, thinking I was behind it, held me in a head lock, and threatened to whip me with a rubber hose.

"Another member of my stable was there and intervened.

"I have complained to police, and George has since left us," he said.

Coco was last year involved in a contract battle with actor and model Mario Maurer (Love of Siam, 4 Romances, Rahtree Reborn).

Coco took Mario to court for breach of contract, after Mario left to join rival manager Supachai "A" Sriwichit.

He is also taking teen actress Apinya "Saipan" Sakuljaroensuk to court in a contract dispute.

Saipan declared last year she was no longer willing to work with Coco, as he took on too much work on her behalf.

Coco has declined to release her from the contract, and is preparing to take legal action to insist on his rights. -

Ploy

Actress Cherman "Ploy" Boonyasak insists she and her ex-love are still just friends, whatever his new girlfriend might think.

Ploy and her former love, DJ and actor Pakorn "Dome" Lum are appearing in their first soap opera together, Love Never Dies.

They ended their high-profile relationship several years ago, but media interest in the couple is still lively.

Ploy and Dome have resumed hiring themselves out as a couple for public appearances. At one function this month, Ploy flashed about a ring which Dome gave her when they were still an item.

They play up their affection for each other because the public likes it, and despite the fact that both have new loves in their lives.

Dome sees a student, Paint, who has yet to meet Ploy. Ploy, meanwhile, is keen on actor Navin "Tar" Yavapolkul.

The pair insists there is nothing going on. They believe the significant others in their lives feel the same way.

So Ploy was taken by surprise last week when sharp-eyed reporters spotted a remark left at Paint's Facebook site: "What goes around, comes around."

Observers believe Paint is making a nasty reference to Ploy's recent travails in the media.

The sharp-tongued actress lashed out at a television presenter who told reporters that she was in email contact with Ploy's love, Tar.

Presenter Diana "Di" Jongjintanakarn and Tar, who is studying in the US, were once close, but these days, Ploy is his new love interest.

Ploy was unhappy to see reports suggesting that Di was acting as a third hand between them, and likened Di to a dog at her Facebook account.

Paint's karma remarks suggest that, just as Ploy was unhappy to find Di playing up her ties to Tar, so is Paint annoyed to see Ploy and Dome carrying on as if they still mean something to each other.

Ploy, however, says she is sure Paint is not the author of those remarks. "We have never met, but I have not done anything to upset her," she insisted.
