Pop goes the weasel, Bow's sex clip expose, Tar's bad love

Web of deceit comes unstuck
Pop
Singer Pongkul “Pop” Suebsueng is blaming his own cowardice for an elaborate deception is which he saw two women at once for years, and ended up marrying one in a highly publicised ceremony last week, still without coming clean about the other.

Alert netizens noticed that the woman Pop married in his shotgun wedding at the Wang Yao Riverside resort in Nakhon Nayok on Saturday, teacher Warasinee “Pla” Bunprasert, was not the same woman he was seen on social media dining with at a romantic Valentine’s Day meal shortly before, and with whom he has gone into business running a noodle eatery.

That woman, known as Bow Bora on Facebook, came forward later to say she saw Pop for 10 years and entertained hopes they would one day marry. She did not know about the other woman in his life. Contrary to early reports, nor did Pla know about Bow, despite the publicity.

Bow
Pop says he constructed two elaborate worlds, seeing each woman separately, buying them gifts, going out in public, and drawing close to their families. He insists few of his friends knew about both women in his life, and says he was finally forced into marrying Pla because the elaborate web of deceit he had spun was getting too heavy to bear.

“I didn’t choose (Pla over Bow) ... I just let the situation develop. I reached a point where I could no longer twist and turn and put a brake on things, so just had to let it go,” he said.

“I had many chances to make the right turn [and tell one or the other], but chose the wrong direction every time, because I was too gutless. I forgot which direction I had come from or where I stood. I had spun it into such a big thing I couldn’t stop it any longer.”

Asked why he did not at least tell Bow before his wedding day, as he must have known she would see the reports of his nuptials in the media, Pop said he still lacked the courage and hoped, against the odds, that he could keep both worlds intact.

“I was worried she would quit with me. I created two worlds and when one looked like coming unstuck would do whatever I could to make it come right," he said.

“Pla and Bow weren’t aware of the other world I created. Both supported me well and took good care of me. I lied to them so I could keep both of those worlds with me.”

Fans had remarked that a sweat-drenched Pop looked nervous and unhappy in clips posted from his wedding, and that he and Pla did not seem to click. One recalled that Pla was not the woman he was often seen with publicly, including at the Valentine’s Day meal.

The revelation that he was apparently marrying the wrong bride prompted a flurry of action on Pop’s part as, even on his wedding day, he was forced to contact Bow hurriedly and explain that he had married Pla, whom he had known since his secondary school days.

Needless to say, he was also forced to explain the state of affairs to Pla, who no sooner had she had a ring slipped on her finger discovered she now had competition.
A sweaty Pop, Pla at the wedding
After clearing the air, he finally posted a message at 2am the next day admitting he had been two-timing both women and urging netizens to save their criticism for him.

A day later, as his tawdry romantic saga shot to the top of the Thai twitter rankings, a chastened Pop went before the media to apologise for his “unmanly” behaviour.

In a rambling explanation, Pop said the problem started 10 years ago when he and Pla had been together about four years and discussed marriage.

She told him she was not ready, and apparently suggested that he try seeing someone else.
“When she said I should open my heart and try someone else, I am sure she didn’t mean it ... but Bow came along after that,” he said.

In words which will (not) cheer the women in his life, he said: “I was never happy in the 10 years we were together, because whenever I went to tell her I couldn’t find the courage.

“I used to wake up and curse myself as one of the most hateful people on the planet, as my lack of courage caused problems not just for Bow, but her family and my friends as well,” he said.

Responding on Facebook, Bow said initially that she was appalled that Pla knew about her, but she didn’t know about Pla. Pop insists this was incorrect, and stems from a misunderstanding. Neither knew about the existence of the other, and he kept separate Facebook accounts for his social media dealings with each.

Pla’s family, evidently happy they snagged Pop as son-in-law, despite his faults, have said little publicly. Bow, however, says she is shocked and saddened by the ordeal, and can’t stop crying. She has downgraded the status of her relationship with Pop to mere friends, though they will also stay in business together.

“I am not as strong as he seems to think. But I have to be tough for the sake of my family, even though I feel weak and am hurting. There’s no easy way to accept it, I am crying constantly and I am not sure when the pain will end,” she wrote. “I am back in my world now, one where there’s only truth.”

As the blowback from the saga reverberates, Thai Rath newspaper spoke to a promoter who had worked with Pop who suggested he might find it hard finding work again if the public were slow to forgive.

Pop, who said he  was open to all criticism, claimed he had yet to ponder the impact on his career.

Sex clip fires up net
Bow
Activist Nuttaa “Bow” Mahattana, caught having sex with Pheu Thai Party member Watana Muangsook in a leaked clip which the couple say was an attempt to smear them politically, got more than she bargained for when she took questions from the public on Facebook.

Far from probing her on issues of public interest, netizens seemed mainly interested in one thing — getting hold of the clip. Bow, 39, said gamely she was willing to answer one question from each netizen, and that the nature of the questions, even about her love life, didn’t faze her.

The pair are pursuing legal action against whoever leaked the clip, with Mr Watana, 61, last week telling his lawyers to haul in for questioning the owner of the unfortunately named Peep-Inn hotel in Ratchada where the pictures were taken last year.

Meanwhile, on social media, one cheeky netizen set the ball rolling, asking Bow if it was true they had made love. “It’s true,” she replied. The couple, who accused the regime of leaking the clip to distract the public from “real” issues of moment, such as skulduggery in the election campaign, say they went out openly together and are both single.

Other netizens asked how she felt at the moment of orgasm (“use your imagination,” came the reply, adding her whole heart was in it, nothing less). Asked if she had a copy of the clip, and if she’d mind sharing it, Bow said she didn’t, and invited any curious netizens who came upon it to pass it on to her lawyers.  She was also asked if she had had sex with any other politicians (No).

Ticking off one poster for using poor language, he responded saying he was worried someone might leak another clip of her, in which case she would end up looking worse than he does, despite his poor manners.

“It would cause bother to society as well because people would have to waste time tracking down the full version,” he added. “People should find more productive uses of their time,” Bow replied dryly.

Give her a good coining
Tar, Numwanz, and their daughter
Actor Navin “Tar” Yavapolkul says he is not interested in an apology from an ex-lover who coined his BMW at his former condo in Thong Lor, forcing him and his then-pregnant wife to relocate.

Tar said last week the legal action he has launched against the woman, caught on CCTV footage moving suspiciously around his BMW sports vehicle shortly before it was coined in the 2017 incident, is making progress.

He had not sought anything from the other side, such as damages or an apology, as he just wanted the law to take its course.

A woman in dyed blonde hair, wearing shorts and a white shirt, is seen wandering about the BMW. The culprit scratched the entire bodywork and left a message, “F- you,” for good measure.

The leaked CCTV image emerged on a website late last year, when police said they had sent the case file to prosecutors at the Pra Nakhon South District Court. The woman, whom Tar identified as a former lover, has been charged with damaging another person’s property.

Tar said he doesn’t know why his former girlfriend did it, but he and his wife were determined to take the battle all the way.

His wife, Passawee “Numwanz” Payakbud, was heavily pregnant at the time and scared for her safety.

“A pregnant woman is naturally sensitive to danger in her environment. We had to move out of that condo and go back home as we didn’t want to be in such a place.

“I didn’t want such a thing happening again to my wife or child. People who do such a thing can expect to suffer the consequences. If there’s a law there (to protect me against such things), I will use it.”
