UNFAITHFULLY YOURS, STORM IN BEER CUP, EX-JAILBIRD ROCKED

Pleum ‘still friends’ with Tubtim

Pleum, Tubtim
Television presenter Surabot “Pleum” Leekpai is taking legal action after netizens claimed he was unfaithful in marriage, days after he announced last week he and his co-presenter wife had parted.

After a series of images emerged in which Pleum is seen with a young woman, the host quickly denied he had cheated on his wife, Mallika “Tubtim” Chongwattana.

Days before, he confirmed social media speculation that he and Tubtim, who presented a show on Thailand’s most popular YouTube channel, VRZO, had parted ways.

He said they discovered their love was really that of friends rather than life partners.

They married at a royally sponsored wedding in Bangkok in October 2012.

Pleum said he met the woman in the pictures after he had broken up with Tubtim.

“We just talked, nothing more,” he said, adding the two were no longer seeing each other.
One image shows them sharing a meal, and another at his home. They appear to wear similar a cap, and bracelet.

Pleum said she was among a group of his friends in both pictures.

As for a picture in which a young man, face obscured, and the girl appear to be sharing a hug in a bathroom, Pleum said he was not the one in the picture.

“I don’t know what the motives are [of these claims], but I have hired a lawyer to pursue the culprits for defamation,” he said.

Earlier, media reports said Tubtim’s sister Chanidapa Chongwattana had spoken out on the pictures.

A Facebook page in her name dismissed speculation the recent troubles in Pleum’s TV production company, VRZO Production, were caused by Tubtim.

“The truth must come out when his little wife shows herself. In fact, he’s had one for ages. My younger sister has put up with so much. I feel sorry for her. The bounder! Help me share this post widely,” the Facebook post said.

None of the parties has gone before mainstream media to discuss the saga, preferring to handle it on social media outlets. Pleum is the only son of former prime minister Chuan Leekpai. The guest list at their wedding, one of the biggest of the year with more than 3000 guests, included high-profile politicians and entertainers.

Recently, alert fans noticed Tubtim had gone back to using her family surname in the end-of-show credits, after earlier adopting that of her husband.

Late last year, Pleum stopped following her on social media.

Last week, Tubtim wrote she had bought a home, her first one purchased alone. In response, fans asked if she and Pleum had parted.

After a brief pause, Pleum emerged on social media to break the news of their parting.

“We have quit for a while now, though not because we argued or resented each other,” he wrote.

“We both knew just how much we loved each other, but we have only just found out that the love and feelings of concern we share are those more of friends than life partners,” he added, saying they were still close.

Tubtim added later said she never thought she’d see the day when they parted, but now it has arrived they would have to get through it. She said she reluctantly quit VRZO at the end of last month.

“I am sorry to my fans ... I can’t make the show again even though I love it very much and don’t want to leave. This life is never as good as when we have family, friends, and someone who loves us,” she said.

Later, in a mysterious outburst on social media, Pleum’s mother wrote: “Raising a dog is better than a person”, but quickly denied she was referring to Tubtim.

Pleum’s former girlfriend, actress Pongratee “Ploy” Charoen, who once argued on social media with Tubtim, also chimed in: “I am not delighted at all,” she said in response to news of their parting. “It’s like I’ve just seen a cockroach.” -

Ja’s outrage at fan’s behaviour

Ja pours beer on fan
Sexy singer Nongphanee “Ja R Siam” Mahadthai is appealing for public sympathy after she flung beer on an overzealous admirer at a recent concert.

Ja, best known for her crotch-grabbing song Kan Hoo, came under attack from netizens after a clip emerged of her exchange with the fan at a performance in Chiang Rai.

A man standing in front of the stage is shown spraying her with beer as she sings.

When he refuses to let up, she asks to borrow a can of beer from someone in front and flings beer back at him. “He has been tossing beer ever since I took the stage. It’s really ugly,” she said over the microphone.

“Please give him a few boos.

“If you carry on like this, we’ll call off the concert.

“Don’t make it unpleasant and dull...”

The man resumed tossing beer at her and eventually Ja had to call security.

While some fans praise her for refusing to be cowed, others say she is in show business, so must expect the odd rowdy fan who goes too far.

“You’re making too much drama ... all he did was spill a bit of beer on you. Didn’t you come to fame from all that sexy stuff in Kan Hoo?’’ one netizen asked.

In reply, Ja said the man was drunk, and had earlier tried to climb on to the stage to grab her dancers.

“I am selling sexy stuff on stage, but does that mean I have to go along with someone flinging beer?” she said.

“These days we put the emphasis on having a good time, not just sex.”

In response to critics who accuse her of peddling sex for a living, she said: “I have never let anyone stuff money down my bra, or hang a garland of money around my neck ... and have never forgotten my origins.

“If it’s from Kan Hoo that today I am able to support my parents comfortably, why should I feel ashamed?

“Today everything I have is because of that song: Two houses, three Mercedes-Benz cars, land, all paid for with cash, and money in the bank.”

Ja, who calls herself a simple country girl, said she was nonetheless prepared to say sorry to those fans who thought she had gone too far. -

Schoolgirl uniform sparks outrage

Keng Laiprang, Neuy

Net idol and former inmate Panya “Keng Laiprang” Yimumphai, 33, is again promising to reform himself after the Ministry of Education called to complain about a recent clip in which his student wife appears wearing a school uniform.

Occasional actor, DJ and presenter Keng Laiprang, a former jailbird well-known for his humorous clips on the net, said the ministry had been in touch with his student wife Saitharn “Neuy” Wangprasert, 18, to forbid her from dressing up in school uniform in clips with him.

“The ministry called my wife Neuy at school to forbid her wearing a uniform, forbid her from giving me cheek kisses, and forbid her from calling herself “mia” [a colloquial term for wife]. It’s not a good look. This comes despite the fact we are married!

“I respect your wishes, and we’ll do as we are told.

“Next time I will put up a clip which looks much more sensible ... she’ll wear traditional Thai dress. Ha, ha, ha! Thailand, I love you.’’

Reaction is mixed to the ministry’s intervention, with some netizens saying its meddling has gone too far.

Others, however, remark that Neuy, while now studying at university, is nonetheless still regarded as a student.

Keng Laiprang was arrested in Pathum Thani last month on an old drugs charge stemming from his time in jail in 2008 while serving time for robbery and attempted murder.
