Two actresses filmed wrestling with each other on the footpath can agree on one thing in the aftermath of their well-publicised tussle – they weren’t fighting over just some guy, thanks very much, but more important ''women's issues''.
They also insist they did not stage the fight, which took place outside a city party, and was filmed by an unknown hand. The clip emerged on the internet this week, just as one of the fighting pair has released a telltale book.
Both actresses have since come forward to ''clear'' the affair.
Pornpimon ''Kwan'' Daengsamran, star of the comedy The Kik 3, says she lay in wait for Apisara ''Ying'' Rakchart, former girlfriend of tennis champ Paradorn Srichaphan.

pursuit of fame.
In the video, Kwan is on top of Ying, slapping her about. They have landed on the footpath by a parked car. The person taking the video appears to be concealed behind a nearby building.
Curiously, Ying does little to defend herself against Kwan. ''Help!'’ she calls out. Seconds later, a young man emerges from the building to separate the women, while Mr Cool Hand keeps filming.
Initial reports said they were fighting over actor Somchai ''Joop'' Sathutham, but he denies being involved in any love triangle with the pair.
Ying and Kwan were just as keen to tell the media that they weren’t fighting over a mere man, but more important ''women’s issues''.
''My image is bad enough as it is. I would almost rather fight over anything but a man, as that looks so bad,'' says Ying.
''Joop and I are close friends going back more than 10 years, but that’s all. I have a boyfriend of my own,'' she says.
Kwan, who broke her silence a day after Ying and Joop went before the media, says the fight started because she was drunk. ''I drank a great deal, and intended to have it out with her,'' says Kwan.
She wasn’t fighting over Joop, and nor was the fight set up to promote her new telltale pocketbook, out this week.
''Women don’t normally fight over men. They fight over women’s things,'' she says.
Kwan heard rumours that Ying accused her of trying to make a name for herself by taking off her clothes, so she retaliated. Ying denies ever saying it.
''I don’t know who took the video, or why it was released. However, we didn’t set it up.
''I don’t know why Ying didn’t hit me back. Maybe she was tired, was worried about getting in the news, or being sued,'' she said.
Kwan says she is happy to apologise to Ying for hitting her, and hopes the two can be friends again. -

Bad blood with the ex? No worries!
Actor/presenter Kanchai ''Noom'' Plerdploi is unflustered by the prospect that his estranged former girlfriend may testify against him in a defamation case he is taking against his niece.
Presenter Kritteera ''Khem'' Inpornwichit may be called as witness by Noom’s neice, Ploypailin as she defends herself against the charge that she defamed her uncle by email.
Khem, who says she learns bad things about Noom almost every day now that they are no longer together, has yet to hear from Ploypailin herself, but has heard the rumours that she may be called.
She says Noom has no right to angry should she testify.
''I would simply be responding to a court order. I am not sure I can help Ploypailin much anyway, as the court would know that I have a history with Noom, and that I may not be an impartial witness,'' says Khem.
The defamation dispute stems from a case which Noom is taking against his step-mother and her son, over an unsettled 100 million estate left by his father, amulet collector Prakob.
The two sides met for court-appointed conciliation this week, but failed to overcome their differences. Another hearing has been called for June 25.
Noom is likely to call his present girlfriend, actress May Fuengarom as a witness on his behalf, though Noom denies the case will end up as a catfight, with his former and present loves having a go at each other over him.
''I am not worried about the prospect of Khem testifying, though I don’t know what she could contribute. I am suing Ploypailin after she sent emails attacking me to Khem, May and many other people.
''My niece sent the same message to everyone on her list, including Khem. If Khem testifies for anyone, it should be me.'' -

Sometimes a man just has to ''move on'', girlfriend or not.
Model/singer Somchai ''Tao'' Kemklat is annoyed after a TV news show tracked down his former girlfriend in Chiang Mai to ask her about his lightning marriage to a Bangkok woman.
Tao’s former girlfriend Erng Aerin, a graduate student, says she and Tao were still seeing each other and talking normally when he left for Bangkok to make a fresh start.
A week later, she heard in the media that he had tied the knot with Athamart ''Yui'' Attsawawimol, a magazine marketing executive, at the marriage registry.
Tao is trying to put his turbulent past behind him, including police assault charges stemming from an incident last January in Lampang in which he allegedly attacked a man at a noodle shop.
The media has been mainly obliging – few bother to ask him about the court case, which has yet to go to the prosecutor.
''I just want to do the right thing,'' Tao is fond of saying about his new wife, and life.
After Erng phoned in her critical remarks to the news show Pra-den Det Jet 7, journalists asked Tao whether he wants to do the right thing by his former girlfriend as well.
''It’s up to them...but if you ask me, they used my girlfriend to create buzz for their show. They should think about their professional ethics, and the impact which such conduct can have on third parties,'' he said.
He did not want to talk about her any more, as she belonged in his past. Now was the time to ''move on''.
Tao is not the only star to have remarried recently without consulting important people in his life.
Singer Nicole Theriault is upset after her former husband, Jirasak ''Maew'' Panpoom, remarried this month without telling her.
Maew married a personal manager, Ajaree ''Naew'' Muangplub, in a Christian ceremony attended by about 100 family and friends.
Maew and Nicole, who separated about a year ago, have one son, Tigger, by their marriage.
Nicole admits she is feeling miffed after Maew failed to tell her about his plans.
''I found out at the same time as the media,'' she says. ''If it was me, I would have waited longer. I am trying to figure out how to tell our son, who still knows nothing.'' -

Model Alika ''Blue'' Ployamporn has gone to the police, after a
nuisance caller asked her to pose half-naked in a fashion magazine.
''The first time was four months ago, about 4am, when he called on my cellphone.
''He claimed to be a photographer for a fashion magazine, and asked if I would like to pose topless for a cover shoot.
''I thought that would be inappropriate, so turned him down. Before hanging up, he said he wanted to sleep with me,'' she said, after laying a complaint with Thong Lor police.
''Then, the other morning, he called again, this time to my home. I have not given that number to anyone. He asked me again if I’d like to pose in a fashion shoot. I tricked him into talking.
''He knows all about me, which makes me suspect the caller is someone close to me, or someone I have worked with before.''
She yanked out the phone jack, but when she put it back in, he called again. ''What kind of shoot would you like – body paint?''
Blue asked him for his contact number, which he gave. He volunteered his name, Neung.
When her manager called the number given, Neung answered – then carried on in a similar vein. ''What’s her waist size? Hips?''
Blue’s manager also called the magazine he named.
''They don’t have any photographers called Neung, though they have employed someone by his name in the past,'' she said.
For greater safety, Blue has now moved in to stay with her younger brother.
